Toured the Muckross House earlier this week! This stunning Victorian mansion famously hosted Queen Victoria during her two night visit in 1861. The Queen was accompanied by Albert, the Prince Consort, the Prince of Wales, Prince Alfred, Princess Alice and Princess Helena.

The event was so grand, that the owners undertook many renovations and extensive preparations to impress her. Tapestries, mirrors, Persian carpets, silverware, musical instruments, linen, china and servants’ uniforms, are all said to have been specially commissioned for the occasion. The curtains that still hang in the Dining Room were specially woven. The cost of it all was so enormous that the family never fully recovered financially afterward.

Later owned by Arthur Guinness (yes, that one), the estate was generously gifted back to Ireland in 1932, becoming the foundation of the country’s very first national park: Killarney National Park. taken in Muckross House by @thedavidlatorre

Had a few minutes to take a picture as we toured around the Ring of Kerry this morning! Took a jaunting cartride in Killarney National Park just before the torrential downpour happened. The weather in Ireland is even more unpredictable than the weather in South Carolina… It’s rained off and on each day (with lots of wind) but it seems to brighten up when it matters the most! taken in Killarney National Park by @thedavidlatorre

It was such a pleasure to get to perform in St. Colman’s Cathedral tonight in Cobh, Ireland!

I learned a ton of history about the town and its many fascinating stories about how it is connected with the Titanic. This was the last town that the Titanic picked up passengers at before it sank just a few days later. This cathedral is where many of the passengers would have attended Mass before boarding the ship which would ultimately be their last trip.

It was a pleasure to get to speak to and spend time with the attendees of the Charity Golf Tournament at the @countrycluboflexington today hosted by the @lexingtonwomansclubsc
