🇫🇷 -

🇬🇧 -
It was only a frame.
A forgotten outline, holding stories no one looked at anymore.

I listened to it.
Scraped it. Fed it. Awakened it.

Under my hands, the wood spoke through cracks,
pigments bled softly,
and time began to flow again.

So it became a mirror.
Not to reflect the world as it is —
but to reveal what we no longer see.

A fragment of memory.
A living surface.
A silence that speaks.

À l’Atelier The Deco Therapy , chaque meuble raconte une histoire…

Pinceau 🖌️

🇬🇧

Beautiful antique brushes found at @danslesarmoiresdenosgrandsmeres

We often talk about furniture, patinas, finishes… but we forget that the brush is the foundation of the work.
It’s the brush that glides over the wood, lays down the material, and shapes the light.

A good antique brush — with bristles softened by time, a worn handle, marks of a life already lived — allows for a more accurate, sensitive and controlled gesture.
Even tools carry history. They have already worked, already created, and they continue the story in our hands.

Because beautiful work always begins with the right tool. 🖌️

🇫🇷

⸻

🇬🇧
Patina is never accidental.
It is a work of study, of observation, of coherence.
To truly see the piece, understand its era, respect its soul…
To choose the right tones, to honor it without ever betraying it.
Long before the first gesture, everything is considered.
Then comes the work of the material:
creating fine cracks,
bringing shadows to life,
revealing depth, texture, and movement.
This is not just paint.
It is a slow, sensitive, deeply living transformation.

🇬🇧

Before the piece, there is testing.
Materials, effects, light, depth: everything is tried, everything is challenged.

FR 🇫🇷

Material effects, plays of light, textures and contrasts…
Wood fades away, and the material comes alive.
The object transforms, to the point where its original nature is forgotten.

🇬🇧

✨ New life, new soul.✨
This modern coffee table has been reimagined into a truly contemporary piece through layered material effects: wood-inspired nuances, metallic touches, and subtle textures that give it depth and character.
A play of contrasts that catches the light and reveals the richness of its patina.

✨ Breathing new stories into old pieces. That’s the magic of handcrafted transformation. ✨
