TikTok is savage so I’m catching up here 🤣. En-suite build part 1! Going owner builder for this project so doing a lot of the work ourselves. And by we, I mean Harry 🙌🏼.

The sweet sweet sounds of the first week of our reno being underway! The first time we’ve got to break ground on a project and lots of other firsts which I would rather have not experienced including - no hot water for the week, accidentally cutting through the internet cable 😅, no oven or kitchen sink.

We’ve been able to make so much progress in such a short time. All plumbing for the reno & extension is roughed in, storm water organised and en-suite stumps in.

Ready for extension slab and en-suite framing next week. T minus 17 weeks until baby. taken in Hamlyn Heights by @thedesignkit

Bit of an update after a 3 year hiatus 😅😵‍💫. We sold the block at the end of ‘24, it was sad! Build costs increased too much during Covid to make building on the block make sense so 2.5 years ago we purchased a renovators delight (aka nightmare) in Hamlyn Heights. We tried to hold both for as long as possible but in this economy, it just wasn’t sustainable 🫠. We loved the block, Smack loved the block, it was our dream. The day we sold VS the day we bought 4 years ago. Look how little we all were! Selling has opened the door on an exciting renovation on our current house, which couldn’t come soon enough 🤰🏻. Now that things are happening I’m going to start documenting for my own sake and excitement! Let the reno begin 🤞🏼#hamlynheights #rookiereno #renovatorsdelight #50shome taken in Hamlyn Heights by @thedesignkit

Last year when the house progress was at a standstill I directed my ✨disappointment✨ into designing and having fun things made to go into the house when it’s finished.

Very happy, now I just need the house to hurry up so I have room for 10 more 😝 wishing we could skip to the good part!

Glossier makes me *gasp*. I want to feel this way every time I walk into my own house. They’re brave, creative and I’ll forever be in awe of the experience they create through their design choices 💖

It’s been a while. House still isn’t built. Here’s the most exciting thing that’s happened, a tap has been installed at the block, Smack is shocked that it actually works ⭐️ I’m in the the USA and the house progress is so excruciatingly slow that I’m just going to start posting things here that I see and love that aren’t necessarily house related but it’s all relevant cause everything you see and do forms new ideas ⭐️ #soslow #newtap #forSmack #houseideas taken in Geelong West, Victoria, Australia by @thedesignkit

APPROVED 🎉
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
About 6 weeks ago 😅 council approved our plans. We didn’t have to make a single change. Woohoo. Now we wait for engineering. This whole process has taken a lot longer than I was anticipating/hoping for. This happy mess is getting me through in the interim 🌈 #happyplace taken in Geelong West, Victoria, Australia by @thedesignkit

💥 It’s the 100% legitimate forest* out the stairwell window for me 😅. Things are still slowly taking shape. I live for these realistic fly throughs ❤️‍🔥

The best thing about the block is how far away from each other we can get 🤣 👋🏼 from across the future backyard. #lockdowninparadise taken in Geelong West, Victoria, Australia by @thedesignkit
