POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Whew, I’ll never forget those first few weeks of my sons life.

I had so many mixed emotions. I was happy, sad, overwhelmed, tired, excited, the list goes on and on.

Despite how much I tried to prepare for this season, when the time came I truly had no clue what I was doing. No article, YouTube video, or advice couldve prepared me for everything I faced during that time.

Thankfully through prayer, tears, worship, and my community the PPD didn’t last long. Around week 4-5 of postpartum I started getting the hang of this new life + things started to get better.

To every mama out there that’s battling the many emotions that come along with postpartum, I am genuinely praying for you + with you. My DM’s are open if you need me šŸ¤

*Also, I have another reel that explains what I personally did to overcome PPD so be sure to check that out too!*

Every prayer you whisper, every trigger you surrender, every mindset you let God renew is not just changing you but it’s freeing your children from battles that were never theirs to fight in the first place.

Your healing is their inheritance.

And I promise it’s worth it.

If this spoke to your heart, save it as a reminder and share it with another mother whose breaking cycles in her bloodline and needs this encouragement šŸ«‚šŸ¤ by @thediaryofken

When you start doing the inner work, healing, maturing, and allowing God to bring order where there is chaos it seems like everything gets 10x harder.

I remember wondering to myself, ā€œI’m doing what God asked me to do, yet my life is in complete shambles. It’s just one thing after the other.ā€

What I didn’t realize at the time was that God was tearing down my faulty foundation so I could rebuild my life on Him.

But man, that was hard. It was painful, it was exhausting, and it came with so much grief. Yet, here I am on the other side and it was the best decision I could’ve made. I’ve seen God turn my entire world around for the better. I’m beginning to see fruit be produced in my home, my marriage, my children as a result of choosing to endure that hard season.

So to the mother fighting to do things God’s way all the way:

Don’t quit. When it gets hard, lean on God even more. Prioritize being in His presence and reading/studying His Word. Surround yourself with godly community. And most importantly, obey Him.

The Lord sees you, He’s with you, and He’s sustaining you. You are the vessel He wants to use to shift your bloodline, it won’t be easy because all of hell is attempting to stop you but it’ll be so worth it.

I love you and Jesus loves you more šŸ«‚

Now let me just say, I lose my cool A LOT šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø but I am actively working on reminding myself that meltdowns, tantrums, refusal to listen, screaming, hitting, etc is not a *real* threat to my nervous system even though my entire inner being feels like it is.

I genuinely desire to my a safe space for my kids, even when they make decisions that aren’t the best or their own emotions are impacting my mood. But being that safe space isn’t doesn’t always come easy to me. It’s something I have to work at and maybe you do, too.

Three things we can practice together:
• Slow our breathing before we speak
• Lower our voice, not raise it. Tone really does matter.
• Remind ourselves: this is a moment, not a threat

UNEDITED WEEKEND šŸŒøšŸŒ“ā˜€ļøšŸ¦‹

@kimpetree // @mycitygate hosted an event that has truly marked me and my walk with Christ! I didn’t leave that place the same way I came in and I’m so grateful.

I almost didn’t attend, but thank God for friends who can see what God wants to do for you even when you don’t because @calledtalia bought me a VIP ticket so that I could not just be in the room but get the full experience 🄹

This weekend was one I’ll never forget, it really marked me and has been a pivotal part of my journey with the Lord.

It also was so healing because ever since leaving the cult I unknowingly joined, I’ve been hesitant to attend anyone’s conference or event. But I felt so safe here, so seen, and so loved not only by God but also by His daughters šŸ¤

Pleaseee hold the screen and read the notes I took from each teaching! They are TOO good and I know you can find ā€œThis Timeā€ by @melissargraham on Citygate’s YouTube channel so go watch the full thing! It BLESSED me tremendously!

This conference was a sweet reminder that God is calling us back to the unedited version of ourselves and that’s what Project: Me is really all about— putting down what was never mine to carry and becoming authentically me, again ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹

If you attended Unedited, tell us in the comments how God showed up for you there! I’d love to hear about it and I know it would encourage the next person as well! 🄰 by @thediaryofken

It always blesses me to see my babies freely and voluntarily worship the Lord.

It’s a sweet reminder that every time I lifted my hands and voice unto the Lord— in the midst of the tantrums, tiny voices asking for yet another snack, toys all over the living room, dishes still in the sink, and my heart feeling weary— seeds were indeed being planted and watered along the way.

I remember yearning for ā€œalone timeā€ with God and now I see why He didn’t always give me that desire of my heart. It wasn’t because it’s a bad desire (I think we DO need uninterrupted time with Jesus), but because He knew who was watching me & how my worship would impact them 🄹

To all my moms that hold off on worshipping, praying, reading/studying the Bible, watching the sermon replay, etc until the kids are sleep or occupied with something else— I encourage you to start inviting them into your time with the Lord.

Have dance parties to worship music, weep before the Lord in front of them, pray in tongues and do a prayer walk around your home while they play, let them help you anoint the home, do it all!

Don’t just tell them about Jesus, let them see you do life with Him šŸ¤ by @thediaryofken

I love when the Holy Spirit gives me phrases to you for my kids!

I’ve always been a supporter of ā€œtake ā€˜can’t’ out your vocabularyā€, but I remember the first time Josiah told me he couldn’t do something. I told him not to say that and then quickly realized I didn’t have anything to replace it with.

I remember asking the Lord, ā€œIf he shouldn’t say ā€˜can’t’, what should I tell him to say instead to express his need for help?ā€

Boom. ā€œI can do it, I just need helpā€ was birthed!

I love this phrase because it honors two truths at the same time.

It acknowledges that children are limited in some ways. It’s a part of their journey here on earth. They don’t come out of the womb being capable of doing everything and that’s normal.

It also protects his mindset. I never want him to think that just because he’s having a hard time doing something in this stage of his life, that means it’ll always be that way.

Instead of only teaching him what he shouldn’t say, I wanted to also give him a tool to use when he finds himself in a tough situation: not giving up, but asking for help.

It’s okay to acknowledge our children’s struggle while also giving them language that builds resilience, humility, and confidence all at once.

ā€œI can do it. I just need help.ā€ Stick that in your back pocket the next time your baby tells you they can’t do something!

It won’t only help them now, but it’ll carry over with them into adulthood as well šŸ¤ by @thediaryofken

Is it just me or is anyone else first instinct to hide when life starts lifing??? Like alright, I’ll see yall on the flip side when things feel normal again 😭

At the beginning of this year, I locked in with God to confront the things I’d been avoiding. When I felt the Lord leading me to start serving, I had plenty of rebuttals.

At the time, my life was in SHAMBLES. What do you mean serve, Lord??? I can barely think straight 🄓 but little did I know, He was going to use my yes as a means to take me through another level of healing.

While it’s easier to shut the world out and hide, I want to encourage you to press into community even more when life gets wild.

Continuing to not only show up at church, but serve others as well didn’t solve all my problems. However, it gave me something I didn’t even realize I needed: people who knew my name, noticed when I wasn’t there, celebrated with me, prayed for me, and reminded me that I didn’t have to carry everything alone.

Yes, healing can happen in private when we’re alone and it’s just us and the Lord. But healing can also happen in conversations after church, in shared meals, in serving alongside people who become family, in allowing yourself to be known before you have it all together.

If you’re in your own ā€œProject: Meā€ season, maybe this is your sign to heal within community instead of hiding šŸ«‚šŸ¤
