Meet Monk! (NY 🇺🇸)
Once homeless, now living like the king he was meant to be for however long he has left.

POSTS STORIES REELS

Sorry if you've been looking for new Monk posts the past few days...we've been quiet since receiving the latest update...we needed time to process the information.

The mass removed from Monk's chin was benign, but the oral mass was a melanoma.
I know oral masses tend to be cancerous, but we still held out hope for a miracle.

This poor guy has had 3 different cancers in less than a year!! The biggest fear with an oral melanoma is its tendency to spread to the lungs. 🥺

Monk sees the vet again on Wednesday for suture removal. We'll have a better idea of what the future holds after the appointment.

The support we're receiving from @rottieempirerescue (the angels who rescued Monk) is unparalleled and we couldn't be more grateful.

Please continue to keep Monk in your prayers, sending him your good juju and positive thoughts - we'll take alllll of them!

For now we will carry on as usual - spoiling the crap out of Monk and living each day out loud with purpose. 🥰

I couldn't imagine NOT adopting shelter & rescue dogs...
Especially if they're hospice adoptions...
It's such an honor to give a dog comfort, safety, & love for the last leg of their journey.

Monk's fave outdoor activity! Give him a stick and he shall destroy it. 🤣🤣

Volume ⬆️!

I'd like to think Monk was defending my honor in his sleep last night 🤣.

He's never growled at anyone or anything before, so I wonder what his brain cooked up to piss him off!

We've had a few new people join our little world, so I thought it was time to reintroduce Monk - The Drooly Lama!

Last winter, Monk was found outside a Home Depot by the fantastic rescue @rottieempirerescue - go follow them!

As you can see by the scar on his neck, he had a giant mast cell tumor (and several others) removed. RER's amazing fosters nursed him back to health and he found his way to us in March.

Monk's short little life has been rough - from being a stray on the streets, to living in a squatter house, to having 3 different cancers this past year - but you'd never know it if you met him!

Monk literally loves EVERYONE! He whines and lays down when he sees/meets other dogs and slobbers all over the faces of every new person he encounters.

❤️110 pounds of pure love❤️

We're documenting his life with us for however long he has left...
This boy deserves to live his best life - and that's what we're determined to give him.

Thank you all for coming along for the ride! ❤️

Not sure if he would tolerate a costume in real life, but he sure would look fab in some of these!

Tell me, which one is your favorite?

Mine is the last one! 😉

Enrichment can be as simple as slathering some peanut butter on a paper plate and sticking it in the freezer for a few minutes!
This was a big hit with Monk!

I call this one...
Monk & the Mums!

The sun is weird in our backyard, so I have to move the Mums with the sun.
Monk always follows!
