Personal Note:

I have been wanting to write something for awhile but really didn’t know how, kept deleting. Seems appropriate today. I didn’t want this to be some attention seeking thing but i see now why others do this. It’s good for the soul!

My dad would have been 75 today. It still doesn’t feel right even saying that. As a lot of you may or may not know my dad passed away on May 18, 2025, after a tough and short imo battle with dementia. It was time. I cherish ever single moment we spent together even when he was sick. I didn’t have to be there for him i got to. I wouldn’t have gotten through it though without my sister by my side and alot of my family and friends. Y’all know who you are. My parents taught me alot of valuable life lessons and always told me they were proud of me (despite my own faults) which not everyone can say and I am thankful. They weren’t perfect but they loved life and enjoyed it until they got sick and even tried to then. I hope to do the same.

Dementia is not just a forgot your name and day disease anymore. It’s a debilitating disease for everyone involved. Awhile back a good friend of mine Dr. Chad Edwards asked me to be a part of a nonprofit he started called The Dementia League. I couldn’t say no. There isn’t a cure for this disease and who knows if there ever will be. However, if you knew how to do some things to fight it, wouldn’t you want to know?

As a nonprofit with a 100% volunteer board, we share trustworthy research findings to empower others with the knowledge to help lower their risk and keep their brain healthy for as long as possible. We need to keep our brains healthy, as we do the rest of our body. If we can help one person live longer and enjoy more life, then mission accomplished. But why stop there.

Help us make a difference. Follow, like, and especially repost. Hopefully you’ll learn something along the way.

Thank you to all our followers and supporters!

Happy birthday dad! I know you are doing something you love. But don’t forget to take your shoes off. Ha!
