On Saturday, August 1, @thee.celli brings expressive cello, classical precision and genre-crossing range to the @5artists1love Art Battle Royale on Rice Howard Way. Boluwatife Akintunde, also known as BoluCello, is a Nigerian-born, Edmonton-based cellist, educator and performer whose musical journey has included orchestras and ensembles across multiple countries, plus appearances at BBC Radio 1Xtra and Carnegie Hall. This time, the stage is downtown Edmonton and the assignment is clear: give live painting a considerably more cinematic soundtrack. Saturday, August 1 3 PM to 7 PM Rice Howard Way Free to attend Brushes moving. Cello singing. Blank canvases reconsidering their life choices. Come for the art. Stay for the block.
