Thank you so much to all of our talented composers and musicians who played at our September String Quintet Night. It was such an amazing night full of energy, talent, and incredible performances.

Years ago I decided to make an Improvised String Quartet record with all ladies. I wanted to make something that sounded nice, inviting, pleasurable. Listenable. Because sometimes improvised records can get kind of aggressive and intense. I wanted to make something with love and beauty. It was the end (middle?) of the pandemic, May of 2021. I called up some of my favorite musicians. Crissy J. (@ms.crissyj on violin) and Sage (@hellocellomusic and cello ) and I all went to Berklee together and played in some of the same ensembles. So we kind of grew up together. And Lauren (@bababamusic on viola) I think we can all agree is one of the greatest musicians ever heard, so she was an obvious choice. Gordon (@gordonlysle double bass ) also tagged along a bit. Well, we made a lot of music that day. I gave prompts of moods, keys, visualizations etc and then we played whatever we were feeling. And I took the sessions in protools and cut them up and made them into something I thought was good and then I named each piece for the feeling it invoked in me. And huge thanks to @adargagroup I’m finally releasing it today. So please feel free to have a listen. And if you’re a music supervisor, please consider using some of these tracks to evoke some moods. Special thanks to @dayna_drew for hooking me up with @adargagroup . And thank you @nowsounds for the incredible artwork. Recorded @stationhousestudio Thanks for listening!
