🌽🫘🎃 The Three Sisters are growing at the Hoya Harvest Garden!

This traditional Indigenous planting method pairs corn, beans, and squash so that each helps the others grow.
🌽The corn supports the beans, 🫘the beans naturally enrich the soil, 🎃and the squash keeps the ground cool and helps hold in moisture.

It is a simple but powerful reminder that some of the best ideas for sustainable growing have been around for generations.

Summer in Greece = fresh food, local flavors, and plenty of coffee 🇬🇷🥝🍽️

Maggie Murray (CAS ’29) BS-ES student, takes us through a day of eating in Athens while participating in the Earth Commons Greece Fellowship.
After spending two weeks studying EU Climate Policy and Governance in Athens, she headed to the island of Lemnos for a six-week internship with the Hellenic Ornithological Society.

🌱 The Hoya Harvest Garden is in full swing and summer volunteer hours are here!!⁠
Over the last few weeks, we've harvested bok choy, lettuce, kale, collards, snap peas, mini cabbages, lots of fresh herbs and garlic. We are currently bringing in about 60 pounds of produce each week, with tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplant, and peaches coming soon.⁠
