We keep on complaining about the heat, climate change, burning of the glaciers, rising sea levels but we don't want to do the necessary things to change that. 🤦🏻‍♀️🙄

On a daily basis, there are so many things that a person can do, including not eating animal foods, avoiding meat, dairy and eggs! ✅💚

Do you consider yourself eco-conscious? 🤔
But if you consume meat or dairy , you are contributing to more GHG emissions! 🙈

Share with your conscious friends! ✅

This Das Lakshan, let’s make our compassion visible in the choices we make.

For 10 days, we reflect on 10 virtues that call us toward greater awareness, restraint, and Ahimsa. One simple way to put those values into practice is by choosing plant-based alternatives to milk, ghee, and curd — extending compassion to cows, calves, and all beings.

Try vegan this Das Lakshan.
A kinder Das Lakshan starts with kinder choices.

Our Tirthankars and Jain teachers spoke up when they saw suffering. What can we do as Jains today?

From Parshwanath Bhagwan and Neminath Bhagwan to Mahavir Swami and Acharya Hemachandra, Jain history gives us powerful examples of compassion that did not remain passive. When living beings suffered, they questioned accepted practices, intervened, protected life, and inspired others to do the same.

Today, much of the suffering of five-sensed beings can be hidden behind choices and practices that have become normalized — including eggs, leather, dairy, honey, animal testing, and animal-based entertainment.

Jain teachings invite us to look more deeply: to see the being behind the product, practice, or activity — and, when compassionate alternatives exist, to choose them.

Our everyday choices can become an expression of the Ahimsa we believe in 🙏🏼

What makes a 9-year-old choose vegetarianism… and go on to pursue an MA in Jainism?

Meet Ayaan Ali Siddiqui - a young Muslim whose personal journey led him deep into the philosophy of Ahimsa and animal protection.

Alongside him, meet Lokesh Jain, who has dedicated his life to revealing the suffering hidden behind many of our everyday choices.

Two very different stories.
One shared conviction: Ahimsa must be lived, not just spoken about.

What can their journeys teach us about taking the spirit of Paryushan beyond these sacred days - into the way we eat, choose, consume and live?

Join us tomorrow for a conversation that may change the way you think about Ahimsa.

This September, I’m honoured to be part of “Paryushan Ke Aage” — a series of conversations exploring Ahimsa, compassion, unseen violence, forgiveness, science and conscious living.

On 2nd September, I’ll be joining Aparijita Singh for a conversation on:

🕊️ Unseen Violence – From Silk to Cosmetics

I’ll be sharing my thoughts on silk, drawing from my 20-year journey in vegan fashion — a journey that has shown me that with greater awareness, we can make choices that are not only beautiful and luxurious, but also kinder and more compassionate. 🌱

For me, this is a deeply meaningful conversation — about understanding what lies behind our choices, asking questions, and discovering better possibilities and compassionate alternatives, like vegan silk.

Would love for you to join us, listen, question and reflect. 🤍

📅 2nd September | 8:30–9:30 PM IST
💻 Online | Zoom

Open to everyone.

What makes Ahimsa so difficult to practice in today’s world?

Sunny Jain, Pramodaben Chitrabhanu, and Kanvi Shah reflect on the challenges of practicing Ahimsa in everyday life — from navigating social expectations and deeply rooted habits to reconsidering our relationship with animal products.

They also share some of the biggest challenges that can come with giving up animal products, and how greater awareness, compassion, and intention can help us bring the timeless principle of Ahimsa more fully into the choices we make each day. by @theearthenone

Is it too uncomfortable to face the truth of the dairy industry?

This Mahavir Jayanti, we’re joined by @ruchikachitrabhanu — a scholar with a Master’s degree in Jain Philosophy — as she breaks down why it’s time we become conscious of the level of harm (hinsa) dairy consumption is causing.

Whether you agree with veganism or not, this episode isn’t about judgment — it’s about awareness.
And once you see it, you can’t unsee it.
