This has been a season of shedding.
Shedding identities.
Shedding friendships and my recent relationship.
Shedding survival mode.
Shedding the belief that starting over meant I had failed.

There were moments when I couldn’t understand why so much was being stripped away at once. Now I’m beginning to see that some things had to end so I could finally step into what was waiting for me.

So…the BIG news:
While I was traveling overseas this past month, I received my offer confirmation. I’m incredibly proud to share that I’ve officially joined @gozwift as an Associate Specialist on the Community Support team. 🧡

Cycling has changed my life in ways I could never fully explain. It gave me community, confidence, purpose and a place to become more of myself. To now build a career within the industry that has poured so much into me feels deeply personal.

This isn’t just a new job.

It’s proof that even during the seasons when it feels like everything is falling apart, your life may actually be making room.

Here’s to the season of shedding 🥹and everything growing in its place. 🧡

I’m honestly honored to be apart of this project. I’m grateful to be given a platform to share my story and impact lives:

5 women, 5 stories - Anvma Project Story No.11 is a portrait series titled Women in Focus. These past months we spoke to five female pioneers from within our Alba family, to share their unique experiences of the cycling industry: @irisslappendel @rebeccahenderson.27@ngnongnam @theecarbonqueen and @virginiacancellieri.

Rewriting the rules, turning the 9-5 on its head and building a career around the sport they love. Paving the way for a new generation of cyclists, we hope their voices inspire others to swing big, make waves and lean in for the ride. With illustrations by tiziole

For so long, I’ve searched for belonging—trying to fit in, trying to be accepted my cycling community. I’ve been dismissed, talked about, and painted as something I’m not. I’ve felt the weight of being unseen and misunderstood.

But today, I feel something different. I feel valued. I feel validated. I feel seen. Maybe it’s because I’ve stopped trying to fit in and I’ve embraced NOT fitting in and being comfortable with standing out and not caring about how uncomfortable it makes others.

This recognition isn’t just about me—it’s about every Black woman, every marginalized athlete, every person who has fought to carve out space where they were told they didn’t belong. Thank you to my fellow Queens who spoke my name, and to @rachaeljaneburnside, @uplift.mentoring.networking, and @escapecollective for seeing the work I’ve poured into this sport.

The fastest partnership contract I ever received. From admire to ambassador.

❤️‍🔥The Process:
I bought the skinsuit and the green set: Originally seeing them on @angelajvalenti and @jledee_ , then my friend @iam_lovelisa randomly says she wants an all white skin suit and I started thinking, yeah… I need alll that.

Then @lyfecycle.one flicked me up at One Love. I posted the photos and videos, tagged @attaquer (which automatically sends the photos to their inbox) and kept it moving.

Next thing I know, there’s an email ( readily available in my bio) in my inbox inviting me to become an ambassador.

That part means something to me because it happened organically. With these things: There’s 1. Going out and pitching/proposing. 2. Being seen and offered. I experience both.

Ride for Jane Doe is being rescheduled. Our Los Angeles ride will no longer take place on October 17th. New information forthcoming.

After I shared my truth and announced the ride I was moved, touched and inspired by the response. More than 1,000 private messages. So many of you sharing your stories, saying “I am Jane Doe” (including men) and asking how to bring this ride to your communities all over the world. Different organizations have reached out to offer much needed support for a ride of this significance.

I led with my heart and announced a date before fully understanding everything we needed to put in place. There’s more work to do around permits, insurance, safety planning, law enforcement support and the care this gathering deserves.

A ride of this nature has to be intentional. The people showing up and the stories they carry deserve that.

I’m still committed. I’ll share a new date once the groundwork is in place.

Take notes a learn from my haste. I hadn’t anticipated the magnitude of capacity this ride would ask of me.

For those organizing independently in other cities or virtually, this update applies to the LA ride I’m hosting. Please check with your local organizer for their plans.

Thank you for trusting me with your stories. Thank you for giving me the time to do this right.

I am Jane Doe.

I’ve been R@ped in a college setting and outside of one. So when I say this hits close to home, I mean it touches a part of my own life. There is a person behind that name. And there are so many of us who recognize ourselves in it.

On October 17, I’m asking my cycling (any bike) community together to ride in solidarity with Jane Doe in the Cornell case and survivors everywhere.

For those of us who are Jane Does.
For those who have never told anyone.
For those who have shared their stories and are still waiting to be heard.
For those who love us and want to show up.

This ride welcomes women and men. Survivors, loved ones and allies. You don’t have to share your story to belong here. You don’t have to explain why you came.

And if you want to be a safe person, let that commitment live in your actions: respecting boundaries, listening without blame, speaking up when harm happens and holding your own people accountable.

I want us to show up for one another with care that lasts beyond this ride.

38. And feeling deliciously at home within myself. By myself.

Single on my birthday yet there’s something deeply intimate about being committed to your own company. Aloneness brings gifts I’ve never discovered before. You learn what delights you, what makes you soften and what sets you on fire. The more I look to myself for fulfillment, the more I bloom. And if the flowers inside me could cry, they’d cry from all the space and room I’ve promised them. Be INVASIVE.

I waited to the last minute to plan something and ended up with no plans today. Then I was gifted these flowers by a woman who I truly appreciate…their beauty inspired me to slip into a dress to match and let the sun love on my melanin.

Oh! Bought myself a new @jeep in my favorite color for my birthday, too. A little freedom to go with all this bloom. Because this wolf likes to wonder and wander.

Today I feel radiant. Very wild. Very BIG. Very much my own type. Excited to see where the rest of the day leads me. Maybe a solo sunset bike ride? Maybe dinner for 1? I can’t wait. I’m a hot fucking date. 😆 ❤️‍🔥 Main character ⚡️✨🌟

Working from home with ADHD means one notification can turn into a whole side quest. Multiple notifications can turn into overload, overstimulation, rabbit hole distractions and stolen focus time.

When I need to lock in on any given day, I use @getbrick . I choose which apps I want available and which get BRICKED. I tap my phone to the Brick and then I put the physical Brick in my car. Out of sight and out of immediate reach far enough away that I’m not negotiating with myself every five minutes. When I’m ready to come back, I get the Brick and tap my phone again to unbrick it.

For me, the physical distance from the Brick is the part that makes it work.

I’m not saying that it’s always about me but sometimes it is. @albaoptics has found ways to surprise me that have really put tears in my eyes. Being invited to attend a gravel ride they were sponsoring out of @luftlosangeles only to walk in seeing my face on the cover, first two pages and the back of their catalog put my jaw on the ground and sweat on my eye balls. 😭 🥹.
