I am what I am! 🌟 I am very proud and fortunate to live as myself every single day. This is not a privilege I acknowledge lightly as racial disparity plays a role in every thread of society, including transition. That is why every dollar of this performance went to The National Black Trans Advocacy Coalition. In total I was tipped $105 and my lovely cast @theschoolofrocky matched my tips to donate over $200 in honor of Juneteenth. I could not be more proud of my neighbors and friends for keeping each other safe.
- My inspiration for this number comes entirely from the repeated attempts to “Drop the T” from LGBT. Gender liberation benefits everyone and upholding rigid patriarchy keeps us all struggling. The world we dream of is being built in the shadows while the old one tears itself apart. We are stronger together, celebrating our differences. There would be no pride without black trans women. Let us all celebrate them, protect them, mourn them and fight for those still with us.
Thanks to everyone who came out to see lil old me.

My ideal gender affirming surgery? Being skinned alive and made into a walrus.
I would like to thank my parents for putting me in 10+ years of competitive dance as a child so I could hit the splits one time during this number. Clearly all those classes paid off. And thanks to my friends and castmates at Rocky for letting me live my Hyperfixation fantasy and stand in the wings, bald and bloody, lurking all night. Watch Tusk (2014)! by @theecashprize

Parting is such sweet sorrow. Tim Curry means so much to so many queer people. To me, he is the face of Rocky Horror. He talked about what an honor it was to be memorialized over and over and over onscreen. Few icons reach the status he holds within the queer community. To embody being so unapologetic before it was accepted onscreen. I think his passing hits so hard for many of us because his artistry as Fank n Furter felt like the hand of god lifting us to a place many of us only dreamed of. Losing two outspoken queer advocates and artistic legends in one week hard to bear. I believe the most important message we can take from Rocky Horror is simple. “Dont dream it, Be it.” We can dream of a world where our art and our autonomy is safe but first we must build it by becoming ourselves which often takes immeasurable amounts of bravery. And he saw that and honored it from his fans and the casts that continue his legacy. Its been an honor each month to get up onstage and sing and dance with people who understand what its like to be unashamed, proud and over the top.
A toast, to a lifetime well lived and a legacy worth honoring. ⭐️ by @theecashprize
