Contractions can definitely continue after birth, even though the baby has been delivered!

Contractions help the uterus shrink and help prevent heavy bleeding. Some people call them ”afterpains”.
They can feel like strong period cramps and you may notice them more if you’re breastfeeding!🩷

We were truly honoured to be invited to the Black Maternal Health Conference UK 2026 🩷
To be in a space so powerful and aligned with our mission at The Delivery Room meant everything. Hearing real-life experiences, witnessing professionals come together, and having honest conversations about how real change can happen… it was inspiring, emotional, and so necessary.
