Period poverty is the lack of access to menstrual products, menstrual health education, hygiene facilities, and support needed to manage a menstrual cycle safely and with dignity.

In simple terms, period poverty happens when a girl, woman, or person who menstruates cannot afford or easily access items such as:

* Sanitary pads
* Tampons
* Panty liners
* Menstrual cups
* Clean underwear
* Soap and hygiene products

Period poverty can also include:

* Missing school or work during a cycle
* Lack of menstrual health education
* Shame, stigma, or embarrassment around menstruation
* Limited access to clean toilets, water, or private spaces

A young girl may stay home from school because she doesn’t have pads or other menstrual products. Over time, this can affect her education, confidence, and well-being. THE WORK CONTINUES BEYOND ONE EVENT. 🌸

August brought us together in so many beautiful ways.

We shared. 🌸
We learned. 🌿
We opened conversations around menstrual wellness.
And we gathered resources to support our girls through our Back-to-School Giveback & Empress Care Drive. 🎒💗

Behind every care package is a person who chose to contribute.

A donor.
A volunteer.
A supporter.
A community member.
Someone who simply believed that care should be shared.

We give thanks for every menstrual product, hygiene item, school supply, baby essential, monetary contribution, helping hand and encouraging word that helped make these moments possible.

To the heads and hearts who continue to pour into this work we appreciate you. 🙏🏾🌱
