Today marks the anniversary of the worst day of my life, the day I lost my son, Christopher, at just 31 years old.
It was a senseless tragedy, the result of one bad choice, never knowing it would cost him his life. In a single moment, my world changed forever.
The journey since that day has reshaped me in ways I never could have imagined. My perspectives have changed, and every emotion feels deeper and more intense. Gratitude, joy, compassion, yearning, strength, wisdom, and especially love all seem magnified through the lens of loss.
On that terrible day, I called out to the Lord, and He answered me. That is why I trust Him with everything. There is no doubt in my mind that He knows exactly what I need, and I will need Him until my very last breath.
My life on earth is still wonderful. It is different, but it is still filled with blessings, purpose, and people I love. And while I miss Christopher every single day, I am no longer as afraid of death as I once was, because I know my son is waiting for me on the other side.
Until then, I will keep living, loving, trusting God, and carrying Christopher in my heart wherever I go.
Christopher Don. Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever my Son.
Till we meet again. by @theelila

Family and friends are truly the greatest blessings in life. No material gift can ever compare to the love, support, and presence of the people who mean so much to me. Thank you for making my day so special.
Most of all, thank You, Lord, for another year of life, countless blessings, and the wonderful family and friends You have placed in my life. ❤️🙏🎉 by @theelila
