2016 me thought she was GROWN 😭😂
Junior year of high school and all I cared about was school, stacking my resume, and “finding myself” — whatever that meant at 16. I couldn’t wait to leave Florida LOL. Dyed my hair, straightened my curls daily because length mattered more than health.

I was (and still am) a nerd, but 2016 was the year I started having a little fun while still living, eating, and breathing speech & debate. Dual enrollment. Launched a nonprofit. Competed on a national stage… in HIGH SCHOOL.

I placed as a top speaker at Harvard that year, and honestly, it’s still one of the coolest things I’ve ever done. Took barely any pictures because I was obsessed with Snapchat and just wanted to be cool, get into a good college, and be fashionably an Empress.

Life didn’t go exactly how I planned. HA! But God’s plans were better. Grateful for every blessing then and now 🤍 by @theempressedit
