🍣🌸More sushi content coming to my other page @nom_nom_times. It’s been my intention for a while now to share what has been so special to me. Sushi isn’t just a passion for me—it’s my craft and career. I spent years at two very different sushi bars, one being an intensive, very closely traditional Japanese apprenticeship, and the other, a creative, playful, and special place; each shaping my approach in its own way. One focused on creativity and expression, using the freshest local fish, foraged ingredients, and specially grown microgreens and edible flowers; so vibrant and colorful, like painting with nature itself on the plate as my canvas. The other was an intense apprenticeship, high-quality fish shipped in from all over the world, not just a job, but a discipline and a lifestyle. Where mastery was honed through repetition—perfecting everything from making rice every day, bringing a small ball of it to my head chef seeking his approval. High focus on concise intention, focus, and simplicity. Both experiences shaped the way I see sushi—as both an art and a discipline. Both things I crave and desire in this life. 🍣 In Japan a sushi chef is known as a すししょくにん (sushi skokunin) shokunin implies more than just a job title—it carries a deep sense of dedication, discipline, and mastery over time. Such as life in general, but I love the the direct application of this practice with this craft. If you know me then you know I will always mention about wanting to have my own sushi bar or to take it further one day. Speaking of, you would also know that visiting Japan is HIGH on my bucket list. Like for some reason, feels very important to me. And people say well why don’t you just go then? Well, it can’t just be any time! Only when the time is perfect ^^. I’d be so lucky to continue an apprenticeship, should Japan ever take me as a foreigner and a woman. 🙇🏻‍♀️よく日本語を勉強しています. どうか私を日本にください。 by @theenduringlight

I’ll be letting this sit for 4 weeks to ferment then will have health shots to keep immunity up for the colder months! 🌸 Also I may add a pinch of Cayenne if desired per cup when taking shots for some extra blood stimulation and more. 🌶️ by @theenduringlight
