🎶✨ ¡El plato fuerte del primer día en Sonar Festival fue épico! La legendaria banda inglesa Cabaret Voltaire tomó el escenario de Sonar Hall para desplegar su magia electrónica y experimental. Con más de 50 años de trayectoria, estos pioneros del dadaísmo musical nos regalaron una experiencia inolvidable. 🔥🎛️

En vivo, el grupo contó con una formación estelar: Stephen Mallinder en voz principal, guitarra y teclados; Eric Random aportando guitarra y teclados; Finlay Shakespeare a los sintetizadores modulares; y Oliver Harrap derramando energía a través de la percusión electrónica. La combinación perfecta entre lo clásico y lo vanguardista. 🎤🎸🎹🥁

Desde los primeros compases, la atmósfera se impregnó de una mezcla hipnótica de sonidos industriales y texturas electrónicas que capturaron completamente al público. Cada pieza era un viaje sonoro que desafiaba las convenciones, manteniendo viva la esencia del dadaísmo con una frescura única. 🌌💥

La interacción en el escenario fue simplemente impecable. The album was engineered and mixed by Benge, recorded by Joe Peat, mastered by James Trevasus with artwork by Dan Conway and Paul Burgess, based on Conway’s live visuals on the tour.
Marking 50 years since the live launch of one of Britain’s most influential electronic bands (at the Sheffield Students Union Refectory on 13 May 1975), Stephen Mallinder and Chris Watson were joined by Eric Random and Oliver Harrap for an eagerly anticipated and long-awaited tour.

But What Time Is It Really? perfectly captures the mood of the UK dates. Fans travelled across the world to see the band present new arrangements of classic Cabs tracks such as ‘Sensoria’, ‘Crackdown’, ‘Do Right’ and ‘Spies in the Wires’ alongside ‘Tinsley Viaduct’, a contemporary piece of musique concrète composed by Chris Watson.

The next All Horned Animals event will take place in Florence, Italy on Thursday, 11 December 2025.
We are honored to host Eric Random, performing at GADA, an artistic space inside the walls of a deconsecrated church from the 14th century, l'ex San Francesco de' Macci.

Eric will take a break from touring with Cabaret Voltaire to present his new album, Bone of Contention, to be released at the end of November on All Horned Animals.
The event will open with a performance by EROB @prettysolerob a Florentine experimental artist.

Eric Random is a cult figure of the British electronic scene and one of the true pioneers of post-punk electronica. He is an experimental multi-instrumentalist whose work traces a post-punk arc from art-bruit to esoteric jazz and funk, later exploring non-Western idioms with The Bedlamites. He formed enduring collaborations with Buzzcock Pete Shelley, Nico of The Velvet Underground touring and performing with her from 1982 until her passing and Sheffield avant-garde pioneers Cabaret Voltaire, with whom much of his early work shares affinities. He also opened solo for Throbbing Gristle and contributed to landmark projects including The Tiller Boys (who debuted supporting Joy Division) as well as The Faction and Free Agents. After a long period away from the spotlight, Eric returned in the 2010s with a renewed approach, rediscovering and reshaping his musical language. His recent work leans toward purer electronic sounds, less influenced by world music, while maintaining a sense of continuity with his past and a clear spirit of innovation.

EROB works across drone, noise, and field recording, and he is passionate about no-input and feedback techniques. In 2023, he founded DROVE, a tape label and project dedicated to deep listening. by @theericrandom

This new album by Eric Random coincides with the start of the last Cabaret Voltaire tour, for which Eric has joined as a member. The album marks a contrast to his most recent releases, less dance- oriented and with a darker pop tone and a cinematic, soundtrack-like atmosphere. by @theericrandom
