Should you join a real estate brokerage in Dubai that offers a basic salary?

It might sound like a great opportunity, especially if you’re new to the industry.

But there are a few things you really need to consider before accepting.

In this video, I share my perspective on why a salary isn’t always the advantage you think it is.

Would you choose a salary or commission-only?

So you’ve moved to Dubai, joined a real estate brokerage, and now you need to find clients. Where do you start? 🤔

One thing most new agents don’t realise is that your first job isn’t necessarily finding buyers. It’s finding property owners who want to sell or rent.

Because once you’ve got the listings, you can start generating enquiries from buyers and tenants.

But getting those listings? That’s where the hard work begins.

For most new agents, that means cold calling, rejection, and a LOT of follow-ups. 📞

There is a smarter way to approach this, though, and I’ll be covering that in another video.

Follow for more insights into the reality of working in Dubai real estate.

But that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy everything Dubai has to offer!

From buy one, get one free dinners and brunches to activities and spa days, The Entertainer is a brilliant way to experience Dubai without breaking the bank. @entertaineruae

Off-plan or secondary market? 🤔

One of the biggest decisions you’ll make when starting your real estate career in Dubai.

Both have their opportunities, but if I were starting again, I’d choose secondary every single time.

Why? Because real estate is a relationship business.

The more people you meet, the more opportunities you create, and ultimately, the more money you make.

And the beauty of secondary? You’re building relationships with buyers AND sellers, while still being able to sell off-plan.

Build relationships first. The deals will follow.

Choosing the wrong real estate company in Dubai could cost you months of time and a lot of money.

Corporate or boutique? Both have their advantages, but the right choice depends on your experience and what you’re looking for.

Having worked in both, my advice is simple: Don’t choose a company based on promises. Choose one that gives you the best chance of succeeding.
