I’ve been a stay-at-home mom for 15 years now.

I survived the baby and toddler years.

My kids went to public school, then homeschooled for a few years, and now they are back in school full time at our local parish school.

What excuse do I have to not be running a well-oiled machine by this point?

Here are three simple changes I’m making:

1. Automate everything I can

Why should I have to be constantly thinking about decisions that repeat on a regular basis?

2. Cut the sugar

Sugar makes me lazy. I have a major sweet tooth, and I have to be honest about it.

3. Spend less time on my phone

It’s an easy distraction, but it’s not a good one.

If any of this sounds like you, I think you’ll feel right at home here. 🫶🏼 by @theeverydaystandardco

Yes, I’m Catholic, but I’m not here to argue theology.

I’m here to practice the virtue of discipline.

Something I tried before becoming Catholic and failed miserably.

There was no real meaning behind it. Just a lot of empty striving, relying on my own strength, and wondering why it never worked.

Now I’m beginning to understand the difference between delayed gratification and restriction.

Seasons of fasting and feasting, not just with food, but with all things, make self-control and consistency much easier.

I’m a convert, so I’m still learning, but I’m here to share my journey.

If you want to join me, follow along. 🤎
