Trained to run a 5K.
Got some certifications.
Stayed in service to God & others.
Lived in a chronic state of Gratitude & Love.

Last week, I turned 38 🩷. I’m living exactly how I thought I would at this age. Closer to God. Prioritizing my spirit, brain, & body. Moved to a new city. And only engaging with & in people & things that are good for my overall health…and keeping healthy boundaries with everything else. I have never been happier🩷. A tip: even when you’re scared, move away. You can always go back…but you’ll regret never moving forward. by @thefabdlp

[PLEASE READ] I will be presenting at Columbia University’s Center for Justice’s Beyond the Bars conference. As always, I’m inviting everyone impacted by the criminal legal system to get involved or just ATTEND events that centers your experience. Whether you are formerly incarcerated, have a family member who is formerly incarcerated, or have been involved in systems in any way. This is a Free to the Public Event that will give you access to so many movement leaders, organizations, and deepened conversations that will enrich you! You don’t have to be anyone but YOURSELF to attend. 💜

Description of my workshop: The Criminal Legal Reform movement–particularly around women, girls, and gender-expansive people has witnessed many transitions in funding opportunities. The already underfunded issue area has suffered a drastic decline in the interest of funders.

This will be an advanced workshop on the current funding landscape, tools & tactics in securing funding, prospect research, relationship building & management, defining organizational strategies through the fundraising lens, and using our voices to partner with philanthropy in ways that transform their process and how they do their work.

We will be recognizing the issues that are transgressing at the Federal & Local levels that impact funding streams, but we will be talking intentionally about private funding. by @thefabdlp
