After my last story, I received a lot of responses. So many of you shared your own personal experiences of going through similar things and so many of you shared your concern for Dean. Fabian and I are extremely grateful for such a caring village.

As of right now, Dean is okay. He has been in many diverse environments and although his current one is not, he is handling himself well. My fear though is how this will all manifest as time goes on and since school is a big part of his day, we definitely need to address it. We have shared our concerns with the proper people at his school and they let us know that they are very committed to wanting to implement policies and actions to develop a more welcoming and educated environment.

As this has become a focal point in our conversations lately, I have some thoughts to share. by @thefabe

When love spans over five decades of change, challenges, and celebration, it becomes a families foundation for generations. Today my parents celebrate 55 years of marriage! Their love has been a reflection of strength, resilience, and unwavering devotion. I am forever grateful for the continued example of true commitment.
