What's the story of your festival, and the all people who make it special? 🎤 Are you ready to level up your connection with audiences and the artists you want to shout about and support?

Fabulas Media CIC's story is pretty simple. We're not-for-profit, we know that people connect with people and with 25 years' experience in the corporate world, we understand how to slot right into your strategy. Or, we can help with that.

Starting out? Grassroots? You'll get subsidised, supported access rates to interviews and video production services. Hit us up for an initial chat about your 2027 event.

Huge thanks to those who invited us on their teams in 2026, including @nozstock, @altitudefestival_ and @globalfunkfam at @muckyweekender featured here. Big love @beatlesdubclub, @mistatrick / @mistatrickcollective, @wearegirlsnextdoor, @mcmaddyv, @mspinkdj, @mc_enamie.

Record yourself answering the questions on camera, but you don't have to look down the lens. You can be doing another task at the same time. Don't read out a pre-written answer!

And follow me for more.

It will be much easier if you get someone to ask you the questions and you'll feel more at ease answering a real person.

You'll hopefully be able to see how some of these Qs lend themselves to a segue about your career and gigs. Lean into places where you can naturally mention something you want to promote. E.g. And this NYE we're playing at X... or I saw X at X and it's my dream to play there in 2027.

Keep each answer to under 3 minutes. When you post you can put the Q on screen if you like, but I suggest editing slightly from below to make it your own.

1. Tell a story where something spooky happened to you or someone you know
2. What's one of your favourite venues/festivals and tell us one memory of playing or watching a gig
3. Is there DJ/producer/artist/band that's inspiring or impressing you right now
4. How do you decide what to wear when you're playing a gig and do you have any views on the different pressures females might face.
5. What's your rehearsal schedule like and are you strict with yourself.
6. What was your most disappointing Christmas where you didn't get the gift you were desperate for? What was the thing you wanted?
7. You have one wish to spend one day with a DJ/producer/artist/band where you can ask them anything. Who would it be and why.
8. Do you remember a particular album or piece of equipment you've been bought for Christmas?
9. What's the best Christmastime / NYE gig /night out you've had
10. Do you believe in NY resolutions and do you have one this year? by @thefabulasbk

Today's supermarket boycott from @werenotbuyingit.uk made me think of this.... an anthem for our times from @asian_dub_foundation, here performing at @shindigfestival.

"Gotta stand up and say that we can't pay, won't pay, no."

Check out @globalfunkfam's YT channel for performance snippets and @thefabulasbk's interview.

Yo DJ, could you tick one of these small marketing tips off today?

Although... small caveat with the radio, even when you put your name, you might accidentally be called Emma 🤣 see my last post!!!

Biggest of ups to @woody_cook here in the photo, who I chatted to for @globalfunkfam at @muckyweekender... the interview is coming very soon!!!

What. A. Woman. Interviewing @rhodadakar was a highlight of my year without a doubt (not Emma's!!!). Thank you again Rhoda for your generosity.

Big ups to @shindigfestival and @globalfunkfam, this has got me super excited about 2027!!!

If you missed 6 of the best on @bbc6music with @jamzsupernova standing in for @laurenlaverne, go listen again on Sounds.

I'll share a secret with you. I'm absolutely shitting myself.

Yesterday, I wasn't though. I was a cock-sure Connie on my way to conquer the world.

Around midday I decided to design these posters. I checked if my local printer could have them ready for today, they could. I earmarked a trip around rehearsal spaces, recording studios and venues. Yes gyal!

Today I woke up feeling like wtf have I done? Who do you think you are? I eventually rocked up at the printers at 3pm thinking they would be laughing and pointing.

I've heard from enough successful industry people who have said they still get imposter syndrome. Have said they feel like they don't know what the fuck they're really doing when everyone else does. Have said that you just have to give it a go and get out there. If all if that applies to the DJs and music artists I want to help... then it's big girl pants time. The same applies to me.

Then sadly, I heard that an old colleague who used to be very dear to me had died last year. He was like my surrogate dad back then. Well then I HAD to go and do the bloody posters didn't I. Short times on earth and all.

When I got a big smile and a 'we'll take two' from @thelamplighterpub the haze lifted a bit. By the time I met @chomp.hc - hiya - outside @stalkersstudio I remembered why I'm doing it.

Thank you if you have put up a poster. I'll be finding the courage to hit other local areas soon.

Please let me know if you want me to post you a poster for your local venue or studio.

If you've seen a poster and want to know more... get in touch! If you're a grassroots artist, let's chat about supported access / subsidised rates.

Obviously I don't now know whether to post this AND it's turning into a Woolfian short story. Ok. Share. by @thefabulasbk

Quick social media organisation tip for DJs and music artists - it's not for everyone but when you want to repeat similar message or content over time, it's a game-changer. There are paid for tools (obviously) but this is the free way to plan ahead and track back.

You can use any type of document or tool where you can search. Excel, a GDoc, Apple Notes or even something like Trello. The most important thing is make it work for you when you need to find old content - our brains all work differently right?

And this makes me think about how I love to colour code in relation to content pillars, audience and message themes... I'll show you that another day, shall I?

🔥 @asian_dub_foundation hit @hootanannybrixton on Thursday, 3 December for their only UK show 🔥

If the band isn't mesmerising enough, @chandrasonic is THE most interesting guy when it comes to music history. Let's all thank space and Bowie, or ADF may have sounded rather different!

Recorded at @shindigfestival with the @globalfunkfam in 2025.
