Hmmmmm.🇳🇬❤️‍🩹

‘Boro camp, Bayelsa State.’ I stared at my phone screen and the tears just came, because I knew, this was where I’d be spending the next one year of my life. Serving. In Bayelsa State, south south Nigeria. But holding onto faith, and the truth that God never fails, I packed my bags and moved.❤️‍🩹

If you ask me how it’s been these past two months, camp included, I’ll tell you honestly: it hasn’t been easy. I had to stop my business to be here, and now trying to resume back to my business while adjusting to a whole new environment has been such a hassle. Add that to house hunting, which has been very very exhausting and very very very expensive, way more than I budgeted for. Then there’s the food. Adapting to the foods they eat here, so different from what I’m used to, has been its own struggle. The language barrier. The cultural differences. Adjusting my whole lifestyle. It’s been such a real struggle, one I wasn’t fully prepared for no matter how much I told myself I was ready.

There were nights I cried myself to sleep, wondering if I made the right decision. There were mornings I woke up missing home so much it physically hurt. Camp stripped me down to nothing familiar, no comfort, no routine, no one who truly understood where I was coming from. I had to learn to be my own comfort. But God carried me through the 3 weeks in camp.

We all have plans. Some of us have businesses we built with our hands, dreams we were already chasing before this journey started. And coming here with absolutely zero plan shook me to my core. It felt like starting from scratch in every sense. But I’m still here. Still trusting God. Still believing that whatever He has said, He will surely do, even when I can’t see the full picture yet. If there’s one thing this journey has taught me, it’s how to trust God so much more than I ever have. Not just say it, but actually live it, day by day, one uncertainty at a time. Looking forward to greater things ahead 🇳🇬❤️

Family jokes can leave deep marks. For a long time, I hated my eyes because my uncle jokingly said my baby cousin wouldn’t let me hold her because my eyes looked ‘different’ from the rest of the family. That comment really broke me. I spent years quietly hating my eyes, convinced that being different meant being ‘less than’.
It took time, but now I am so convinced that my eyes are very beautiful!😍 I realized that ‘different’ is just another word for ‘unique.’ Now, my eyes are one of the favorite parts of my body.💕

On the 13th of December, 2025, we graduated our first cohort of the Future Leaders Initiatives who successfully completed an intensive leadership development programme.

The graduating cohort underwent structured training in systems thinking and core leadership competencies designed to equip them for sustainable impact across personal, professional, and community-based environments. The programme focused on developing leaders who can think holistically, understand interconnections within systems, and design solutions.

This cohort represents a new generation of leaders committed to intentional leadership, sustainable growth, and values-driven influence.
