Before I ever stepped foot on the campus of Spelman College, I had already fallen in love with a place I had only seen on television. ❤️💙

A Different World is my favorite show, and it is so much more than entertainment for me. It gave me a glimpse of HBCU life — the sisterhood, the friendships, the scholarship, the leadership, the culture, and the confidence that came from knowing you belonged in a space created to help you become your best self.

Spelman College became my reality. My home. My foundation. My beginning. And years later, I can honestly say that Spelman is the gift that keeps on giving.

From watching A Different World on television to walking through those gates as a Spelman woman… what a full-circle moment. ✨

Sometimes the vision starts before you even realize you’re dreaming.

Thank you, A Different World, for showing me a world I didn’t know I needed to see — and helping me find my way to Spelman. 💙
