Well that did NOT go as planned…🧪🫠 During the Chicago marathon this year, I experimented with 30g of carbs around every 30 minutes! During the New York City marathon, I wanted to see if my body could handle 40g of carbs around every 35 to 40 minutes. The idea was, I’d have to spend less time on fueling and get more down each time! Though it started ok, around mile 10 is where things started to fall apart. I’ve never felt this bloated during a race before, and I think my body had a hard time managing that many carbs at once. I had 3 to 4 bathroom stops, but nothing was moving. There is nothing I could do other than just run through it! I ended up taking a lot less fuel than I usually do! Everything felt so good except for my stomach. Coach note: please do not try new fueling strategies during races! I fully expected this to go better, lol. I’m going to practice this a bit more in training and see if my body can learn to tolerate it! I get all my fuel from The Feed! How many gels did you take down during the New York City marathon? #NewYorkCityMarathon #MarathonFuel #FueledByTheFeed #RaceDayFuel #runwithrylee by @thefeed

Long miles. A full fueling menu. 🇨🇷 @kendallpfx fueled his Moab 240 effort with gels, electrolytes, real food, and a taste of home with Costa Rican Chiky cookies. He covered 170 miles before unsafe conditions forced the race to be canceled while he was at Road 46. But Kendall wasn’t done running. Just eight days after starting Moab, he lined up at the Costa Rica backyard ultra he and his team organized to bring the challenge home to his running community. 170 miles in Moab. Another starting line days later. Still plenty of unfinished business. 👊 by @thefeed
N is for Nitric Oxide 🫀 Your blood flow deserves a spot in your fueling plan. Nitric oxide helps widen blood vessels to support oxygen delivery. Beetroot’s dietary nitrates may help your muscles use that oxygen more efficiently. 👀 As always: test it in training before race day. #TheFeed #FuelForAthletes by @thefeed
Prebiotics vs. probiotics: you don’t have to pick one. Probiotics add live microbes. Prebiotics feed the ones already in your gut. Most endurance athletes need both, since hard training, heat and travel all stress the gut. Swipe for how to match them to your biggest limiter and a simple daily routine. Save it for your next training block. #TheFeed #FuelForAthletes by @thefeed
