In case nobody has told you today.
You are worthy of love. You are allowed to make mistakes. You do not have to re-invent yourself on a quarterly basis. Your inner child is still alive and well. You are so loved. Your feminine is present. You do not have to earn rest. You do not have to avoid the thrill of hard work. The soft life is not static. You do not need permission to believe what you believe. Hard conversations do not make you unlikeable.

Of course this applies to any women in the O.R., nurses respiratory therapists students doctors etc. I really wish someone showed me these workarounds a year ago!

Remember to take off your jewelry and I personally leave my engagement ring at home on nights I may have to scrub in.
It’s always worth having a conversation with your scrub tech but I have found each one has different requirements. The above should work regardless!

Fortunately, I am meeting a lot of insanely awesome women in healthcare on the Internet. Unfortunately, we have the schedules of women in healthcare 😭😭😭

It’s a special feeling when you can be there for someone who was in a position you recently occupied. I’m sharing this because I think of all the things we do in academic medicine it’s these moments that are the most worthy of being proud. Ah
