Deciding to become a sustainable and eco-responsible new business is a choice. It’s time-consuming. Expensive. Often times disheartening. Suppliers change their packaging for plastic so you spend hours finding a new one. Many brands out there advertise that something is biodegradable or compostable to sound trendy but after some deeper research it actually isn’t. So you’re left with bad inventory. You try your very best in every aspect to stay true to your brand, to scope out honest brands to work with, and to try to avoid at all costs giving in to cheaper faster more profitable options. People next to you are scaling faster with bigger profit margins by ordering from big overseas corporations. But despite all of these things against you (and I’m missing plenty)… We will keep pushing through. Every. Single. Time. Nothing, not even money should come at the expense of the planet. You figure it out. You make it happen. And you stick to your values. Sure, our stuff might have a higher price tag, but you can be damn certain that you’re leaving with true quality. And sure, we cater to a smaller niche of customers, but we love and honour that community as much as we honour the nature that surrounds us. Every decision is a trade-off. Every choice comes with a cost. And we’ll keep choosing sustainability over all. If you want more small businesses to keep choosing the planet over profit, show some encouragement in the comments and comment “FETCHING BETTER” if you agree 🌿🤎 #sustainability #better #choice #ecofriendly #dog #sustainable #smallbusiness #supporthandmade #supportsmall #canada #canadiansmallbusiness #shopsmall #shopecofriendly #dogoftheday #local #localbusiness #artisan #love #earth by @thefetchingbox

Autumn care tips for the natural canine 🍂 1. Keep their paws protected Moist ground, fallen crinkled leaves, and early frost can irritate paws. Dry their paws after walks, use natural paw balms to hydrate and prevent cracked pads, and trim fur and knots between the paws. *find organic Shea paw butter in the December box 2. Flea & Tick prevention Ticks stay active until temperatures drop below freezing. Stay on top of brushing and inspect your companion after walks in the forest, fields, or even the park. 3. Consider reflective gear As the days get shorter, visibility becomes a safety issue. For early morning and evening strolls, add a light or reflective material to your companion’s collar or leash. * find Monty’s collar clip on light in the January box 4. Wash and rotate bedding Damp autumn air can make bedding smell faster and accumulate mold. Wash their bedding a little more frequently and prep for warmer, cozier bedding as the temperature begins to drop. 🍁🍂 by @thefetchingbox
