🥊 PREPARING FOR THE CFCC OCTAGON — ONE SESSION AT A TIME.

Preparing for @thearslmma next CFCC fight with a focus on rotational stability and power:

🔥 Plate presses with eccentric control — challenging the core to resist movement while maintaining trunk strength.

🦵 Kettlebell single-leg RDLs — developing unilateral hip strength, balance, and control.

🚶🏾‍♂️ Dumbbell walking lunges — building single-leg strength and stability through positions that translate to fighting.

⚡ Offset farmer carries in front-rack position — forcing the hips and core to stabilize against asymmetrical loading while maintaining posture.

🥋 Single-leg around the worlds — challenging balance, coordination, and hip stability under constant movement.

The goal isn't just to get stronger.

It's to create stronger hips, a more resilient core, and better force transfer for striking, kicking, wrestling, and grappling.

Train the qualities the fight demands.

We'll be ready for our next fight… 🔒🥊

🚨 TRAINING FOR THE NEXT WIN NOW...BEFORE THE FIGHT IS ANNOUNCED 🥊

@thedrillmma is coming off his first UFC win—and we're already building the next version of him.

Today's session was a push oull routine that included some of the following exercises:

🏋🏾 DB pressing → upper-body force production for framing, hand fighting, clinch control & striking.

💪🏾 Pull-ups → lat strength + scapular control for grappling, takedowns & controlling positions.

⚡️ Explosive work → developing the ability to produce force FAST while maintaining balance and control.

🥊 Striking integration → strength has to transfer. If it doesn't show up in the cage, it doesn't matter.

We're building power, stability, explosiveness, durability, and repeatable force production—without compromising the skills that make him dangerous.

The opponent will eventually be announced.
The work doesn't need to wait.

Every session is another layer.
Every weakness gets addressed.
Every advantage gets sharpened.

When the UFC calls, we don't start preparing.
We show up prepared. 🥊

The objective?

Make his strengths more dangerous.
Build what’s missing.
Turn preparation into an advantage.

🚨“We need speed… greasy, fast speed.” 🥊

So that’s what we’re building.

Not just stronger but faster and more powerful.

@thedrillmma knows what's and stake and won't let anything stop him.

Long shifts at Home Depot.
BJJ.
Striking.
Wrestling.

And when most people would be calling it a day…

7:30 PM — we lift.

The weight room comes after the work, not before it.

No perfect conditions.
No excuses.
Just another opportunity to get better.

⚡ Faster hands.
💥 Faster force production.
🔄 Faster hip rotation.
🎯 Better transfer from the ground → hips → core → fist.

We're not training just to look strong.

We're training to make that strength violent, fast, and useful inside the Octagon.

8-12 weeks to sharpen the weapons while we await his next opponent.

Speed → Power → Sleep. 💤

THE WIN IS DONE. NOW WE RAISE THE STANDARD. 🥊💀

@thedrillmma just picked up a UFC debut victory—but after a hard-fought fight, we both know there’s another level to unlock.

After the fight, we sat together in the cage and talked about where he wants to go from here.

The goal?

Stop winning close fights. Start ending them. 💥

This was our FIRST training session since the win.

And it’s only the beginning.

The next few months are about eliminating weaknesses and building a more complete fighter:

💣 Explosive strength & knockout power
⚡ Rate of force development
🔄 Rotational power & kinetic-chain efficiency
🥊 Fight-specific conditioning
🥩 Nutrition & body composition
😴 Sleep & recovery
📈 Structured training & progression

And accountability is going up.

Training has to improve.
Nutrition has to improve.
Sleep has to improve.
Recovery has to improve.
Standards have to improve.

A UFC contract is an opportunity most fighters will never get. We’re not wasting it.

The close fight gave us information.

Now we're going to use it.

First UFC win secured. ✅
First session back: DONE. 🔨
Many more sessions to come.

🚨The fight is over. The work isn’t. 🇷🇺🥋

Following @sidoutlawmma MMA victory in Russia with ACA, we used manual stretching to address hip and thoracic mobility after the demands of a hard fight camp and competition.

The focus wasn’t simply on “stretching tight muscles.”

We’re working to restore comfortable hip rotation and extension, improve thoracic rotation/extension, and reduce restrictions that can limit efficient movement through the kinetic chain.

For an MMA athlete, these qualities matter.

Hip mobility contributes to effective striking mechanics, takedown positioning, guard work, scrambling, and force production from compromised positions.

Thoracic mobility influences rotation, shoulder mechanics, posture, hand fighting, striking, and the ability to transfer force between the lower and upper extremities.

Manual therapy and stretching are tools—not the end goal.

The goal is getting the athlete moving better so they can train better, perform better, and continue stacking wins.

Another one in the books.
Back to work.

🚨The pain is at the clavicle. The assessment goes much deeper. 🥋

Working with @widoos_ competitive grappler 🥋🟣 preparing for the upcoming UFC BJJ Trials, dealing with persistent clavicular and mid/upper back pain following a fracture 3–4 years ago.

We’re assessing more than the painful area—looking at SC/AC joint mechanics, scapular movement, thoracic mobility, glenohumeral ROM, rotator cuff function, and scapular motor control.

The corrective exercises target scapulothoracic stability, posterior shoulder strength, thoracic mobility, and dynamic shoulder control.

Why does this matter for grappling?

Because the shoulder has to tolerate frames, posts, grips, underhooks, takedowns, scrambles, compression, traction, and unpredictable forces while maintaining positional control.

Assess the deficit. Build the capacity. Put it back on the mat.

Pain reduction is only the beginning.

Performance is the goal. 🥋⚔️

🚨 Strength and conditioning for combat athletes isn’t about accumulating fatigue—it’s about creating adaptations that improve performance while increasing tissue capacity and resilience.

This upper body session was programmed with three objectives: longevity, hypertrophy, and transfer to MMA and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

🔹 Prone Ws – 2×15
Targets lower traps, rhomboids, posterior delts, and rotator cuff to improve scapular control, external rotation strength, and force transfer in grappling.

🔹 Doorway Pec Stretch – 3×30s
Improves pec flexibility, reduces anterior shoulder tightness, and supports better posture and overhead mechanics.

🔹 Prone Ts – 2×15
Builds mid-trap strength and scapular stability for better posture, pulling strength, and clinch control.

🔹 Face Pulls – 4×12
Strengthens external rotators and scapular stabilizers, supporting shoulder health and stability in hand fighting and posting.

🔹 T-Bar Rows – 4×12
Develops back strength and hypertrophy, improving grip fighting, posture breaking, and dominant control positions.

🔹 Incline Dumbbell Press – 4×12
Builds upper chest, shoulders, and triceps for stronger frames, scrambles, takedowns, and top pressure.

Also programmed but not shown:

✔️ Pull-Ups – Improve upper-body strength, grip endurance, and lat development for better control and posture breaking.
✔️ Overhead Dumbbell Press – Builds overhead stability, rotator cuff strength, and force transfer for wrestling and posting.

The goal isn’t “gym strength”—it’s usable strength, better mechanics, and durability for MMA and BJJ.

Train with purpose so every adaptation carries over to the mats.

🥋💪

Open mat is where technique gets exposed—or refined. 🥋

This round with a strong and skilled purple belt was a constant battle for grips, inside position, posture, and pressure.

Every exchange forced me to focus on guard retention, maintaining strong frames under pressure, recovering position instead of accepting bad ones, and looking to connect my pin escapes directly into offensive cycles rather than resetting.

The difference between drilling and live rolling is timing. You don't get perfect reactions—you earn them through hundreds of rounds like this.

Rolling with higher belts isn't about proving you belong. It's about exposing the gaps in your game so you can close them. Every sweep defended, every pass threatened, every scramble, and every escape becomes feedback.

In this instance I was able to complete a sweep to get to full mount but Leon's patience and experience we're evident while my excitement and impatience surfaced. I wanted to land the arm triangle so bad that in chasing the sub too early, I lost position and got choked out.

As a white belt, I'm chasing better decisions, cleaner movement, and sharper technique—not easy rounds.

Iron sharpens iron. Keep showing up. Keep learning. Trust the process.

🤙 OSS.

Thank you to @thepeoplesjiujitsu @eric.alequin
for continuing to help me improve my game,
and to Leon for the awesome round 🥋⚪️🙏🏽

🚨 Around the World training - Positional live rolling for 1-2 minutes per position as the top and bottom training partner 🌎

One minute. One position. Many opportunities to grow.

This is where the techniques from class are put to the test. The pin escapes we drilled aren't meant to stay in isolation—they're meant to become instinctive against a resisting opponent. Every round is a chance to refine your timing, sharpen your decision-making, and build the confidence to escape bad positions when it matters most.

As a white belt, rolling with a technically sound purple belt is a lesson in technique and humility. Every grip, every transition, every mistake is exposed. But that's the beauty of jiu-jitsu. You don't grow by always winning—you grow by training with people who force you to elevate your game.

Every successful escape starts with hundreds of failed attempts. Every difficult round is an investment in the grappler you're becoming. Embrace the pressure, trust the process, and keep showing up. One day, what feels impossible today will become second nature.

Stay humble. Stay hungry. Keep escaping. Keep evolving. OSS. 🥋⚪️

🚨 Learning to turn defense into offense helps one to gain the confidence to take risks and attack. This aspect of jiu-jitsu is a Metaphor for life if you ask me! 🥋⚔️

This session focused on linking pin escapes from bottom mount directly into offensive cycles, using the escape as the beginning of the attack—not the end of the exchange.

Instead of escaping mount only to reset, we're learning to connect our movements into ashi garami entries, creating immediate leg entanglement opportunities while our opponent is still reacting to the escape.

This is what quality instruction looks like. Every technique has a purpose, every movement leads to the next, and every position becomes an opportunity to attack.

The best jiu-jitsu isn't a collection of random techniques—it's a connected system where defense flows into offense without hesitation.

Train the transitions. Master the connections. Turn bad positions into attacking positions.

That's how your jiu-jitsu evolves. 🔥🤙
