Let’s go back and have a look at TFC throughout the years ✨

2021, I kicked my daughter out of her room, made her share with her older sister. 2 Billy bookshelves later, TFC was born. October 11th was the date we opened our online store.

2022 - the orders came in. There was only 2-3 other indie romance bookshops at this point which means that’s we were BUSY-BUSY! I’m talking 2-3 shopping trollies 2-3 times a week would go to the post office for sending. I was exhausted, I worked full time, looked after my 2 kids and was doing these orders until 1am most nights after work and the girls went to sleep.

2023 was WILD. We went to RARE, had a god awful time (yay, can finally feel free to share that) and I was 23 weeks pregnant and was not feeling well 🤣 July I had our 3rd child, Henry. Then just 2 weeks after, I was reopening the website, back to working at the other business and had a newborn to deal with. I was very lucky to have the chance to build our bookshop above the caravan shop. The build started in 2023, but we opened in….

2024! We held a signing with some incredible authors at our opening day! Henry was 6 months old and coming to work with me every day! It was exhausting but so worth it. So many of you loved being able to come in our shop and buy books in person.

2025 we held in store signings and was lucky enough to be able to extend the shop a little! Adding quite a few more bookshelves. We felt the struggle when there were so many other bookshops open and our online sales were basically gone. But our in store customers truly kept us going and surviving another day.

We also hosted our first @aromanticaffair convention which was an overwhelming amount of success!
We also had a book bandit steal 200 books 🤮 which was a huge set back to me being able to finally pay myself for my time 🤣

2026 - we held our second convention and it was phenomenal. Was able to extend the shop to nearly double the size.

We now have 2 AMAZING employees

But with many accomplishments comes even more mistakes and we’ve had many so hurdles to overcome.

But here we still here.

We may not be the best, biggest, first or last romance bookshop out there. But we have a by @thefirstchapterbookshop

She’s bacckkkkkk ✨
I have been in such a slump the past year or so but I finally am reading again!

I only read 2 books in September and somehow managed to finish book 1, Spark the Flames on the eve of Ignite the Infernos release!

Reading these back to back was amazing, until I realised how big the cliffhanger was going to be and now, I gotta wait for book 3!

This found family, actioned packed Romantasy is great for those who love an urban, dragon shifter, slow burn fantasy book where the plot leads the story 👏

I gave both books 4.5 ⭐️ and loved the banter between the FMC her new found family.
