It’s with a broken heart and pervasive grief that I share with you that my Chiggy passed away on June 4th, 2024, after a 2-week battle. The vets believe he had lymphoma.

I took Charlie and Trigg in for their routine senior panel bloodwork on May 22. I knew something wasn’t right with Chiggy. I honestly thought he was constipated. When Dr. Sally examined him, she found he was jaundiced and sent us to the ER for an ultrasound. At first, it was suspected it was pancreatitis, cholangiohepatitis, or lymphoma. I treated him at home for pancreatitis, but he just got worse. It was an exhausting two weeks. And it was awful in the end, so he was euthanized.

I learned a lot about him in those two weeks. I never knew he had the fight in him that he did.

He received many compliments from vets and vet techs—“he’s so fluffy,” “he’s such a nice cat.” He never had to be sedated for X-rays or ultrasounds, as he stayed steady during them.

He was a constant daily joy for me. He made me smile every day. I’ve never known or met a cuter or quirkier cat in my life. He was easy, delightful, and never caused me any problems. Even when his body was so weak to walk, he continued using the litter box daily.

He was my Chiggy. My Tink-Tink, my Gauy, my Chigg. My Snugglepussin and my “Der he is”! I miss him beyond measure and will miss his self-initiated snuggles for the rest of my life.

He and Charlie were chasing each other through the house 3 weeks before his death. It all doesn’t seem real, even though I lived through it.

Please know there are videos of him that have not yet been released, so you’ll probably still see him in “new” videos.

Charlie has shown signs of grief but overall seems to be ok other than trying to understand why I fall to the ground crying in sorrow.

Thank you for letting me share him and love him for all these years. Chiggy would have been 15 in August.

Give your babies a big hug and kiss. We are so very fortunate to have them and receive their love - that’s why it hurts so freakin much when they’re gone. But the love I received from him was worth all the grief and heartache I feel now. 💔

Although it is sad (in a way) to watch your cat age, it is one of the greatest luxuries of getting to spend your life with them. Trigg’s swift death and departure reminded me of how much I treasure this process. I always wondered how Trigg would age, and I wasn’t afforded the opportunity. However, I am being given that with Charlie, and I am immensely grateful. Moreover, I’m immensely grateful for what I have learned and what I have been taught by Charlie and the cats before him. So far, of all my cats, I’d say his quality of life at this age is the best. That is, feeling the best in his body as he ages because of the homeopathic and holistic measures I know and take now because of what Charlie forced me to learn. They are amazing ways of healing. It is a crime they are not more common place. I will continue to share what I learn, so that hopefully you and your kitties will learn and benefit from too. by @thefloppycats

I had a very vivid dream about Trigg last night. Woke up remembering he was dead. Today I went to my cousin’s house serendipitously to get some footage for upcoming videos. Her Fred treated me to all things Chiggy. He reminds me so much of Chiggy based on his mannerisms and behaviors. A gift today from Chiggy and Fred - who usually doesn’t approach me. Chiggy must have told him I needed the love. I say things in this video I said to Chiggy and only Chiggy brought out in me. Thank you to Fred for helping me remember and thank you to Chiggy for all the joy he brought to my life. ❤️ by @thefloppycats

Charlie got a chiropractor adjustment from Dr. Stella yesterday. Always appreciative of her abilities with Charlie. See last two photos ➡️➡️ one is meowing in car waiting to go in BEFORE Dr. Stella. And very last one is after we got home. Our vet (not Dr Stella) just became a chiropractor. She thinks all vets should be chiropractors. The reason why is because an adjustment resets the nervous system. Charlie also gets cold laser afterward to reduce inflammation. But nearly always sleeps hard afterwards. It’s NOT fun to take him because it’s 30-minutes of incessant meowing each way. But I know it helps him. by @thefloppycats
