Happy Thursday!🌻Just wanted to update our TOG Farmers Market friends…Unfortunately, we are not able to make it to Middle Grove Park this week. That is the bad news. The good news is that this was a last minute schedule change on our end and all of our flowers for the market were already prepped! Soooo…for the next few days our Flower Trailer will be bursting with blooms!! We have loads of lisianthus in every color, mixed bouquets and jar arrangements, and our specialty sunflowers (including White Nite!) have started to open! Hope to see you soon!🌸 taken in Greenfield Center, New York by @theflowerpaddockny

Over the past week, we have been on a quest to create very festive, non-tacky, “no-red-Carnation-to-be-found,” 4th of July flowers. YES!! It really IS possible!
🤭🇺🇸❤️🤍💙🧨

But, not gonna lie-the RED actually presented quite the challenge for us! It’s not a color we normally grow a ton of. In anticipation of the 250 Celebration-We had planted 40 Scarlett Red Zinnia plants, but only 10 are currently blooming, and all of those are on short stems (could someone have forgotten to pinch the Zinnia patch?!🤭)

So! Here are the flowers we came up with for each of the “required” July 4th ❤️🤍💙elements - as well as, the greenery and “other” accents we incorporated into our bouquets at the stand this week! We hope it helps you out with your own designs!

❤️Red - Red Charm Peonies, Red and Burgandy Snapdragons, Red Alstroemeria, Benary Scarlett Zinnias, Yarrow, and beautiful Red Freedom Roses (thanks! @billdoran_albany )

🤍White - Feverfew, Snapdragons, Nigella, Statice, Duchesse de Nemour Peonies, Larkspur, Orlaya, Agapanthus, White Hydrangea, Yarrow, White Sweet Peas, Veronica, Campanula and Iris

💙Blue - Nigella, Statice, Delphinium, Blue-Lav Sweet Peas, Blue Hydrangea, Veronica and Iris

🇺🇸Other - Dragon Cress, Bupleurum, Apple Mint and Sunflowers

Wishing Everyone A Wonderful & Safe Holiday Weekend!!😎🇺🇸 taken in Greenfield Center, New York by @theflowerpaddockny

If we could accurately bottle the scent of these Sweet Peas-we’d be millionaires!!🫛🩷🌈☺️ It really is heavenly. Just one whiff is like a total brain reset!!😉

This year we are growing over 30 varieties and almost as many colors in our small, tunnel patch.
We regularly grow popular varieties like Eclipse, Limelight, Watermelon, Charlie’s Angel, Fire and Ice, Mollie Rilstone and High Scent. These are primarily pastels and brights, which work well with our other seasonal flowers. But, after a few years of the same varieties, this year we decide to experiment a bit. We’ve added in a few of the lesser grown Sweet Pea colors to shake things up!🫨

Here are some of our new, favorite varieties:
Welcome To Yorkshire
Lord Nelson
Lynne Fiona
Castewellan
Prince of Orange
Hannah Dale
And, Shell Pink

The darker, “moodier” shades, in particular, are a real departure for us! We wanted to give them a try to see how they might be incorporated into new designs😊 taken in Greenfield Center, New York by @theflowerpaddockny
