Introducing Kalila Martin your 1st Runner-up Miss Universe Jamaica St. Mary. As a student pilot, model, comedian, poet and Motivational Speaker, Kalila The Flying Model Who Speaks has made pageant history as the First ever Miss Universe a Jamaica St. Mary First Runner-up. With this platform and important time in history I will ensure I use this platform to leave a legacy not just for the people of St. Mary but to every young girl who is scared to try. To every mother who feels like their life is over after having a child, to everyone thinking it’s too late to try, scared, wanting to give up. I want you to remember me and give your dream one more try. Keep giving it one more try and NEVER GIVE UP. First mother to officially place in the Miss Universe Jamaica St. Mary Pageant. @leocarmusic @lionspectrument you have been an exceptional sponsor @skymarbuildingconstruction without investment in my training this would not be possible you are not only building in construction you also built this queen. @jermainejdyer your work will always radiate @3dphotography.ja these captures were amazing @agoldburn retouched ate down As a poet; looking at these images I was inspired to write this piece: The Essence of the Black Girl Magic Like chlorophyll, melanin flows through her skin Photosynthesizing greatness within, Her eyes hold stories of lineages from before Back to peculiar people, rich, powerful, intelligent, far from slaves, chains and the identity of being poor. The parts of our history we weren’t taught yet Through misrepresentation/not enough representation our generation tends to forget Though beauty isn’t skin deep therr is a kind of pride I hold to mine There’s just something about the way a melanated queen shine. The stores sell what to many is a dream “Mi colour a come” all faith being held in the cream. The real gold that flows through their skin isn’t seen. Your are beautiful in your true essence dear black king, dear black queen. These headshots were taken during my official headshot photoshoot @missuniversejamaicastann and @missuniversejamaicastmary 2026 Pageant. by @theflyingmodel

Outside with Pepitaaaa!!! I am so grateful for this queen. May 9th was truly one for the books. Understanding the importance of culture, the impact music has on our nation we indeed can have fun through clean, impactful music. The hill and gully beat has rivived with a brand new twist. Introducing it a whole new generation. Preservation of culture is important, it is also our responsibility to have fun with our culture responsibly. The musical aspect of our culture is vast and rich. @digenius1 truly revived a another aspect making us proud to be Jamaicans. #hillandgullyriddim #culture #sixpondidice #nationwide #freestyle by @theflyingmodel

Delusional? ✅ Yes I was often told I was making a mistake placing my hopes in a dream that’s impossible. Where will you get the money? Aviation is only for rich people. That’s out your league. Try a degree or something that won’t happen. “I may not know when, but how is already sorted, until then I’ll keep working towards it” Today, with @airportsauthorityja meeting me on my journey I am no longer just a delusional dreamer and for that I am truly grateful. This is proof dreams come true. Most importantly you must never give up on your journey. by @theflyingmodel

Trust God with your dreams and plans. He will make it happen at the right time. In the meantime, do the work, expecting it to happen . Some journeys were meant to be taken in order to leave a blueprint on the way to go. This is an amazing journey, highlighting the power of God. Stay tuned. A dream delayed, is never a dream denied. With God all things are possible. I remember the day this video was shot. I had a lot of hope that a way will be made, not knowing how, but having full trust in God that it will. The journey might have hills and valleys as a few obstacles were mentioned here. I am sharing this story, even the vulnerabilities I’ve expressed here in hopes to encourage someone to keep going. That on your journey, remember to bask in the journey! The destination will feel even sweeter seeing the lives you’ve positively impacted on the way. With gratitude and reflection, world this is my story. Follow your dreams!!!! You can achieve so much if u only dare to believe and KNOW that you pursue your dreams to fruition. Don’t be afraid to start where you are. I’ve learnt not to fear the journey. Shredding the destination mindset I am able to enjoy every aspect of my dream as it unfolds. Watching this story it is my hope that many others pursue their dreams. You are capable of so much. God is real. Even our dreams and aspirations he covers it too. If your dream is to become a pilot @aeronautical_school has you covered. You can ask me any questions on how to enroll and their requirements. #empowerment #followyourdreams❤️ #putgodfirst #aviationjamaica #flyingmodelairplanes by @theflyingmodel
