Building an Olympic world-class skate & extreme sports institute in Bristol,CT🛹 For skaters, parents & competitors |
Nonprofit/Forprofit + community

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Grateful for leadership that believes in what’s possible for Bristol’s youth.

The City of Bristol reviewed The Forte proposal and shared their support for how this initiative can become a new and innovative addition alongside local legacy partners like ESPN and Lake Compounce.

At The Forte / ESI, our mission is to give young people direction, purpose, and a place to belong through action sports, mentorship, and community.

This moment moves us one step closer to turning vision into reality.

Thank you to the City of Bristol for believing in the next generation.

More to come.

This idea , this vision has been in my heart for over a decade now. The skater Rat Wanting to save our and re do local indoor @ct_indoor_skate R.I.P❤️

Skateboarding gave us brothers like Zack Forte and taught me so many lessons, independence, resilience, family, how to fail , success and just pure joy.

However there was no opportunity, no guidance. Skateboarding gave me purpose, it kept me and like so many others grounded in chaos.

This is where we pick up, with a plan, a dream and the community. 🛹

Join us as we change lives for generations and bring New England the home of extreme sports it deserves.💯👊🏻

When I lost my parents very young that was hard ..

But when I lost who I chose as my brother…

That was devastating. I’ll never forget the physical pain in my heart. Weeping in the bathroom.

I remember us learning how to skateboard together every scrape, cut, laugh, and fear overcome.

What I remember most is how many people saw it coming and how few of them did anything. Not because they didn’t care. Because there was nowhere to send us.

No room, no coach, no door that stayed open past 6pm. We fell through a crack that was already there before we got to it but he didn’t get back up.

I’ve been skating for 26 years. I’ve broken 34 bones been homeless and learned to over come failure.

Skateboarding is the only thing that ever caught me a piece of wood, a parking lot or DYI park and people who didn’t ask where I came from who became my family.

But out here that ends in November. Five months a year, the East Coast closes and the kids who need it most go back to whatever they were doing instead. Mental health erodes and opportunities fade away.

So we work toward building The Forte ESI. An Olympic-grade, indoor, year-round, Bristol, Connecticut. Not a gym. Not a “here you go prefab “skatepark”

A place to belong on a Tuesday in January when there’s nowhere else to be, a place where you don’t have to sacrifice education, community, talent, and love while chasing your dreams or finding a place to belong.

The East Coast has produced some of the best athletes this sport has ever seen and has never once given them a home.

We’re building the home.

For Zack Forte, for every kid nobody came back for and for all the future generations to come!

“It literally took every single ounce of energy and effort from this team and amount of guts to stand on TOP of action sports panicle” - xgames CEO @jeremybloom

🏆 XC NEW YORK. FIRST EVER.
2,640 points. A 10-point margin. Decided on the last run of the last event of the season — with Daniel Sandoval riding through a broken kneecap and torn ligaments to hold the lead.

That’s the standard.

That’s the whole thesis behind The Forte: give athletes a facility built for that level of commitment, year-round, and give the community a beacon of HOPE when the odds are against you.

Congrats to the club and to GM @stever_nyc @xgames_newyork and all the Gritty Athletes !

We salute those who full send 🫡🇺🇸🗽❤️
