I’ve been following Rwanda’s investment in their Meetings infrastructure for years! Things are possible with clear strategic investment. The meetings and events space is always underestimated and yet can bring incredible value to economies! I’m here for it! by @thefranceslife

What does it really mean to understand Africa?

For more than a decade, Frances Quarcoopome @thefranceslife 🇬🇭 has been exploring that same question.
Not from a distance, but through the people, relationships, experiences and cultural realities that shape business across the African continent.

Before Frances was speaking about cultural intelligence, she was already putting culture into motion by organising rooftop parties in Accra. Through @jamjargh, a creative and brand experience company she co-founded with her brother Guido Quarcoopome @mrma5on in 2013, Frances has consistently curated world-class brand experiences and events across pan-African markets for organisations such as the @nfl, @diageo, @pernodricard, @cocacola and the @worldeconomicforum.

Through her podcast @cultureiscurrency, Frances examines the cultural forces behind how business gets done and the assumptions that can prevent global organisations from building meaningful relationships in African markets.

One thing about me is I take food tastings for events very seriously! 😅 3 things will make or break an event, the food, the drinks and the venue.

Listen! People will remember those more than anything else. Taking the extra time to test a menu, make sure it’s great for your guests makes all the difference!

Uber has left Nigeria and Uganda! In some ways, I’m not surprised. I don’t think they ever localised enough for our markets and took time to understand what the real dynamics were 12 years ago when they were entering! by @thefranceslife

Culture is currency ✨

What happens when you build with your roots, not around them? This conversation with @misssilverspoon is all about moving with intention, honoring culture, and creating something bigger than yourself.

If you’ve ever thought about going back home, building across borders, or redefining success on your own terms, this one is for you.

Our episode is out now! Link in the bio!

The most challenging thing to running a business is finding that balance! It’s my daily challenge, have I don’t something for myself? How do I stay balanced because when I’m off balance it’s not good for anyone, especially my mind. How do you find balance and self care in your daily routine? by @thefranceslife

Perception is the conversation we are having, because over the 13 years of work I’ve done across Africa, it’s the first hurdle in any business conversation about which markets to work in. You may not like the comparison of Ghana and Nigeria, but alternative versions of our realities need to be discussed so we can capture more opportunities!

Have a fabulous Friday! 🎉 by @thefranceslife
