I was going through old videos to try to free up some phone storage and I came across this five year old video of me trying to approximate Bill Evans on My Foolish Heart. I rather like it. #billevans #jazzguitarist by @thefriendsofcoal

"Sometimes I dream of home and friends
My dreams are false, my heart is rent
And when I wake I'm all alone
My dreams are false, my friends are gone"

A.P. Carter is credited with a lot of songs he probably didn't write, but at very least I think he was a great compiler of American poetry.

Trying out some "melodic banjo." I don't know, feels like forcing myself to eat my vegetables. I just wanna play like JD Crowe and Jim Mills.

Trying another self-duet. One of my favorite Carter Family songs -- No Depression in Heaven.

The timing on this one is wild, still trying to get the nuances of it.

Standing in the Need of Prayer by Jim Mills.

Finally had the Gold Star (1980 GF-100 HF) repaired and set up. Trying a thicker bridge.

I got Keith tuners too - will post something when I actually learn how to use them.

Experimenting with using CapCut to overlay a vocal harmony -- this one was definitely not recorded in the optimal way, but at least I got it to more or less sync. A great song by the Louvin Bros, which I learned mainly from the Red Allen version.

Happened upon these lovely sounds from David Janeway @davidjanewaypiano Matt Garrison @halfstepmatt Scott Lasky and David Asher right in our own downtown. It lifted my spirits.
