The idea was first conceived out of a simple but compelling conviction that the experiences, insights, and aspirations of Fellows of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy should not remain within us alone, but be shared with the world as a resource for learning and inspiration. Through extraordinary commitment and sacrifice, every Fellow contributed chapters to this volume, making it a true collective effort.

People who work within the creative economy already know what it is.

Our job is to make it everyone’s business because everyone engages the creative economy directly or indirectly every day.

When we understand its multiplier effect we can all help put the necessary structure required to solidify this industry.

A lot has changed over the past few years, so I thought it was time for a proper reintroduction also I think it’s time to separate work from “life”

“Education drives real industry reform”

During the conversation, Funmi highlighted the importance of awareness, education, and legal understanding within the fashion industry. She explained that before meaningful reforms can happen, fashion creatives must first understand their rights, industry standards, and the structures needed to protect their work.
