“A Little Gay Goes A Long Way” — written by Charlie Jennings @charlie_takes_pics , a poem inspired by Alessandra Francisco, a leader in their community.

𝘘𝘶𝘦𝘦𝘳𝘸𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 sets sail every summer along the Hudson River in NY for a special weekend program on sailing, community and leadership for LGBTQ+ youth.

we had such an incredible time at @nycpride again this year. what a turn out and what a full day of QUEER love, joy, celebration, community, and such a stacked lineup of incredible talent!!

FPP IS OPENING NYC PRIDE THIS WEEKEND! 🌸@nycpride NYC Youth Pride is the largest celebration of LGBTQ+ youth in the US... and we’re excited to be back!

SATURDAY 6/27 we have an official booth, and our own @faesymphony is opening the Trans Youth Rally at 11AM.

Come find us at the 📍✨EXPRESSION area near the stage! We’ll have an interactive art display where you can decorate and design your own petals, and plant it in our growing FPP garden. If you’re in the city, come say hi!

so proud of our co-founder @celestelecesne and FPP alum & Youth Advisory Council member @wednesdayblooms — who traveled to Greece 🇬🇷 with @tmiproject to present at the @snforg conference on mental health and wellness 🌊☀️🏛️

they shared their own stories, screened a short film #onestoryatatime (produced by @evatenuto & @thejulienovak ), presented on the power of personal narrative, and guided a freewrite workshop through the incredible 𝑻𝑴𝑰 𝑱𝒖𝒍𝒊𝒆 𝑵𝒐𝒗𝒂𝒌 𝑺𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑪𝒍𝒖𝒃. the theme throughout the event was how stories change the world. stories save lives. something we also deeply believe in.

that spirit lives on — three queer young writers are headed to provincetown this week for the 2nd year of our ✨ᴊᴜʟɪᴇ ɴᴏᴠᴀᴋ ᴏʀɪɢɪɴᴀʟ ᴠᴏɪᴄᴇ✨residency .

at FPP, we extend that same belief of storytelling into music, podcasting, media, and performance — giving young queer people the tools to carry their voices into every creative medium, with real queer mentors beside them. this is what FP50 makes possible.

💫Amara/AJ Brady is a generative artist & cultural dramatug. Her work centers the humanity and divinity of Black femmes. MacDowell- James Baldwin Fellow 2023, WP Theater’s Playwrighting Lab (2022-2024), The Public Theater’s Devised Theater Working Group (2023-2024), and Bernarda’s Daughters (Audible). All Power to all people. Ashé.

💫Sparrow Murray is a transfeminine writer, visual artist, and educator. She is the recipient of the 2024 Stanley and Evelyn Lipkin Prize for Poetry, selected by Chessy Normile. Outside of her writing practice, she creates glass and paper objects. She produces Poetry Unbound and lives in Brooklyn, New York.

💫Eddie Maisonet is an afroboricua, disabled, queer, trans, Boston-based storyteller, facilitator, and audio describer. He uses hybrid forms of essay, poetry, and spoken word to tell his own stories about growth, family, and community.

Next week, we’re bringing Pride to all NYC Physique 57 studios with themed classes, including three special Community Pride classes benefiting @thefutureperfectproject , a nonprofit that empowers LGBTQ+ youth through creative arts programs and mentorship.

The Future Perfect Project gives underserved LGBTQ+ youth, ages 13 to 22, what every young artist deserves and too few are handed: a stage, real mentors, and a community of fellow artists. Everything we do is free! Across the country, online and in-person, we organize a bimonthly Writer’s Room, a 9-month songwriting program that culminates to an album release party at Joe’s Pub, a writer’s residency in Provincetown, and I’m Feeling Queer Today! — our award-winning, youth-led podcast for aspiring journalists (and the fastest-growing youth podcast on Spotify). Plus, virtual workshops and community events all year round. As arts education keeps losing its funding, FPP fills the gap for kids without an artistic community to find their people. They walk in unsure of their art. They walk out unstoppable, and with a real chance to enter the creative economy.
