🍸 Hidden behind one of our favorite restaurants in Lewes is a speakeasy that too many people still don’t know about...

📍The Gallo Room

Tucked away behind Lewes Oyster House, this intimate cocktail bar delivers a completely different experience from the dining room out front. Think handcrafted cocktails 🍹, elevated shareable plates 🦪, vintage speakeasy vibes ✨, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay for “just one more.”

We put their cocktails and food to the test, including:
🥚 Nashville Style Dill Pickle Deviled Eggs
🐟 Halibut Ceviche
🥃 Guy’s Pound Cake Old Fashioned
🍋 French 75
🥃 Golden Fiddle

💡 Pro tip: The Gallo Room is first come, first served and does not take reservations, so if you’re planning a weekend visit, getting there a little early is definitely the move.

🚗 Parking is the same as anywhere else in downtown Lewes. We usually have the best luck with street parking on 2nd or 3rd Street, or one of the nearby ParkMobile lots during the busy season.

We are incredibly excited to welcome this original piece of art to The Gallo Room, generously donated by the Camerons and shipped all the way from Florida.

The rooster will now serve as a symbol of the Gallo crest, honoring the Gallo family, for whom the room is named, and whose support helped us get our start in opening Lewes Oyster House.

We love supporting original artwork and the stories, people, and connections behind each piece. This one already feels right at home. 🐓🎨 by @thegalloroom

Twenty-five years ago, Nancy and Ralph met behind the bar at Gavin’s in Horsham, PA. Nancy was the seasoned bartender, and Ralph was the rookie just learning the ropes. ❤️

Fast forward 19 years of marriage later, and here they are again, side by side behind the bar in the Gallo Room tonight on their anniversary night.

Nancy has become one of our staples, and now Ralph has officially joined forces with her. Some things never change… she’s still the pro, and he’s still happily keeping up. 😂

Stop in tonight and help us in wishing these two an incredibly happy anniversary! Cheers to 25 years of memories, 19 years of marriage, and another night tending bar together. 🥂 by @thegalloroom

🧡 A Cause Close to Our Hearts 🧡

In our industry, we're taught to keep going. Work the double, push through the stress. Take care of the guest. Show up for your team.

But behind every great meal, every cocktail, every packed dining room, there are people carrying the weight of long hours, late nights, burnout, anxiety, depression, and the everyday pressures that come with hospitality.

That's why we proudly support Celebrate Wellness. @celebratewellnessde

Their mission is simple but powerful: make mental health support accessible to hospitality workers throughout Delaware by connecting people with resources, education, and professional therapy when they need it most.

Tomorrow night, Celebrate Wellness will host its annual Orange Party fundraiser at Big Chill Beach Club, bringing together the hospitality community to support mental health awareness and access to care. Their goal is to fund hundreds of additional therapy hours for local hospitality workers.

If you've ever worked in a restaurant, behind a bar, in a kitchen, at a host stand, or supported someone who has, you understand why this matters.

CHAMP 👑 Chris, our Lead Mixologist showed up and delivered at the 2nd Annual Battle Royale at Victoria’s, sponsored by @campariofficial.

Chris 1st in the People’s Choice round with his Root Beer Float Boulevardier, then brought it home with a Frozen Lavender Coconut margarita to win it all.

Didn’t come easy; we spilled more than half of our batched cocktail in round one, but Chris, Mike, and the crew stayed composed and got it done.

Maintenance wrapped up ahead of schedule thanks to some great weather and a lot of hard work from a handful of awesome people, led by Brandon and Tim.

Reservations are now open for this Saturday and Sunday, as well as next week. Reminder: we’ll be open on Sundays moving forward.

What a night at Harvest Tide. @harvesttidebethany

Chris @thechrisscanlon put in a ton of hours for this one and it showed. Couldn’t be more proud of the way he represented us. Second place, but honestly it didn’t feel like a loss.

And if we had to lose to anyone, glad it was Jake, someone who spent years with us and is now doing his thing at Chesapeake and Maine. @safarikjacob .

Big shoutout to all the competitors, the crew at Shorebreak, Danny O and the team at Harvest Tide, Rob and the judges, and Breakthru Beverage for putting the whole thing together. @breakthrubevdelaware
