The GIANT Hunt team held strategic discussions with Ms. Reiko Furuichi, Researcher and Adviser for Culture and Information at the Consulate-General of Japan in Chennai, to explore opportunities for Indo-Japanese collaboration.

The discussions focused on strengthening cultural exchange and creating new opportunities to nurture anime talent through The GIANT Hunt.

A WORLD-BUILDER JOINS THE GIANT HUNT JURY.

We are honoured to welcome Tomoyuki Arima, art director and visual designer leading the Arima Design Institute at Nippon Design Center, to the international jury of THE GIANT Hunt 2026.

Known for his pioneering “World-Building” approach and work in diegetic design, Arima has shaped the visual worlds of acclaimed titles including ALDNOAH.ZERO and Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online.

He also teaches at Musashino Art University and ZEN University, bringing his expertise to the next generation of designers.

A manga artist, educator and cultural bridge-builder, Kofi is bringing Japanese-style manga into university-level education in the USA, connecting the traditions of Japanese manga with a new generation of global creators.

His work spans manga, immersive exhibitions and multimedia storytelling, while his commitment to strengthening cultural exchange between the US and Japan extends through his academic and international initiatives.

As a jury member of The GIANT Hunt, Kofi brings a distinctive perspective shaped by both manga practice and global creative education.

With over four decades of experience in animation, Mr. Iida has contributed to iconic productions including Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honneamise, Roujin Z, Macross: Do You Remember Love?, Gunbuster, Little Nemo, Evangelion: 2.0, Gurren Lagann, Yamato 2199, Sailor Moon Eternal and Netflix’s Record of Ragnarok.

As SUEZEN, he is also widely recognised as the character designer of Yadamon.
