The Ginger Lash (@thegingerlash) is from an Irish town of 700 people, but he now runs five of the biggest queer party series in Switzerland: Kweer Ball (@kweerball), EXPLICIT (@explicit_party), TEA (@tea.dance.ch), Drag Brunch (@dragbrunchch), and the newest and wildest of the pack, PIT (@pitparty_ch).

This month, EXPLICIT teams up with Berlin’s Pornceptual (@prncptl) for a one-night collab at Zinkbad in Zurich on 13 June, the weekend before Zurich Pride—a timely event after the city’s Pride funding collapsed this year.

In this interview with Alexander Cheves (@badalexcheves), The Ginger Lash talks about building queer nightlife from a WhatsApp group, fighting Meta’s censorship of queer content, coming out, growing up, toxic masculinity, and why queer events still matter.

„Our joy is just so fucking wonderful.“

Read it at hinterhaus.berlin or at our link-in-bio.

Hinterhaus tells behind-the-scenes stories of people who make music happen. From Berlin, with 🩶
