Yo. I'm probably going to shitpost, or probably play guitar. Which one though? ;D

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Went to go see Beartooth, Silverstein and Kingdom of Giants play on Frankfurt last night, was a great show. They all killed it. Got all nostalgic about their old songs, so here's one of my favourite riffs from "Aggressive."
I actually recorded the whole song here but last time I posted a full song Instagram told me "We're not promoting this because it's too long."
Which y'know, in a world where we all have crippling attention span problems I relate to xD

So the band that got me into metal and made me wanna play the guitar, @blacktidemusic released this song a couple days ago. #Midgardsomen
I spent four hours learning and tabbing out the song by ear. I wanted to try uploading this sooner but I snapped a string and had to order another set and it took a few days xD
This is still super rough, it's probably not 100% accurate either due to my tabbing skills but after messing up the ending section like 40 times I've had enough for today. I'll clean my playing up later. #metal #metalcover #guitarist #blacktide by @thegodofcookies

It's been a while since I posted anything guitar related, life has been kicking my butt lately.
Now that I'm back to feeling slightly human again, here's something from an original song I've been working on. It's called "Catharsis" and I'm planning on tracking it properly very soon. ;D

It has been a long time since I posted anything on here. I think I'm finally ready to get back to making music again. To celebrate me "Getting my shit together" I decided to record my usual string change routine. Guitar is a @valenti__guitars custom that I had made a couple years back now. Still plays like it did when I got it. ;D

I realized today I haven't really written anything since my Dad passed two years back. I had the sudden urge to pick up my guitar and this is the first thing that came out, as rough as it is I just had to get it out there before I lost it to my brain. xD

Had to use the coil split for the 7, feels illegal not to.
Sorry about the sound quality, all my recording software is currently packed away.
Will be working on this until I tighten it up a bit and get it tracked hopefully.

So the new Trivium song is incredible, I still only have like half of it learned but I figure as I haven't posted in a long time I should do something productive and share my progress.

Definitely good ear training learning a song by hearing it a few times, but man does it get frustrating.

Also, my guitar, for classic clickbait. ;D
Hope you're all having a good one.

Just a little solo run from the song Phoenix, by Enemy Inside. Trying out my new #winspearpicks Man, the horn battleaxe actually screams.
I'm not gonna lie, this guitar is still great fun to play, I end up losing hours whenever I break out my custom shop.

Oh, I managed to play a song without fucking up, april fools I guess? ;D

So, got some new picks today. Thanks for @winspearinstrumental for supplying me with high quality materials for the past 6 years. While I was looking at how worn my go to guitar is, I had a thought. Got weirdly motivational, thought I'd share them on here in case anyone else needs that little push today.

Bit out of character here, but I figured I can motivate myself to do anything, I'm going to try my luck with you guys. ;D

So I make a habit of recording myself practicing guitar regularly, I might not always post anything but I hang on to it. Sometimes it's extremely hard to gauge progress on something you've been doing for a long time. Whenever I feel like I'm not getting anywhere or aren't improving I look back on them.
And cringe.

I don't consider myself anything special, but watching a video from three years ago is terrifying. Sloppy technique, inaccuracy everywhere and oh god, my first attempt at sweep picking.
Kill me now thanks. xD

Anyway, my point is, anything worth doing takes time. If you're starting or have started some new hobby recently (Like say, during Lockdown?) It's 100% okay to get frustrated if it isn't working out, we all kinda suck to begin with. That's normal yo, embrace the suck.
With time, you can do or learn anything you want to.
Go nuts.

I, a certified funny man from the internet believe in you. ;D

Man, I haven't posted in a while, so thought I'd break out my #valentiguitars custom. You know I've had this machine for two years now? Mad.
Oh boy, you know what I've learned? I still suck at pull off riffs. ;D Playing some #killswitchengage today. The signal fire has been stuck in my head.
The solo is great fun, but the bit at the end is almost too spicy for me.

As I've been playing a lot of guitar lately, I managed to hurt my hand again, woo me. I don't think I did terribly for like 70% mobility.
If anyone can recommend me some hand stretches to help "unfuck" my tendons I'd appreciate it.
Hope you're all doing well.

Been keeping myself occupied over the past few days, going over some of my favourite songs because I forgot how to play them
Who recognises this song from Polaris? ;D
I'm not sure if I have a favourite song from them, but man did learning their songs make me rethink my approach to multiscaled instruments. Cheers lads.
Hope everyone is staying safe, we'll all get this, don't let the shitstorm of current events wear you down.

Oh boy,
I just realised how long it's been since I posted anything, sorry about that.
New job, and life in general have a way of keeping you occupied.
It's time to throw on some new strings, just before I start trying to get some recording done after Christmas.
---
Been playing the shit out of Cyberpunk 2077 lately, bugs and all. Ended up getting the soundtrack stuck in my head, expect a Samurai cover soon.

Hope you've all been staying safe throughout this shitshow of a year, enjoy holidays.
Merry Christmas. ;D

So I've been dicking around on my 7 string for the entire day, my neighbours probably hate me now. ;D
Anyone else suffer from the circle of strife?

And shit son, that sounds like a band name if I ever heard one. Feel free to steal that. :U

Also, this is probably one of the least sloppy videos I've posted on here, itself almost like I've played the riff like a ridiculous amount of times now. Woo.
