How did we turn a (slightly banged up) shipping container into the perfect Good Copy Co HQ?

Well, it looked a little like this…

Many, many hands were part of this, but special shout outs to my family and of course the team @workshop26_kimba, who made it all happen 🙌❤️

As a fresh-faced 17-year-old, I spent a summer in New Zealand in the Canterbury home of the Turner-Robinsons family on an AFS student exchange.

There was a view of snow-capped mountains out my window. There was water skiing in an alpine lake, mountain climbing, a Star Wars marathon in Methven, lots of swimming at the local pool (for the kiwi kids at least, it was too cold for this Aussie!), Christmas carolling, green grass and water everywhere, and it was a pretty wonderful time.

I’ve been back a few times over the years, and it was such a treat to see the T-Rs again this trip. It’s been 12 years since I last saw them and, incredibly, 28 years since we first met. Lots has changed but also nothing had changed at all.

It’s hard to pick a favorite moment of this most recent trip - there were so many - but catching up with this crew was absolute perfection.

Guess we’ll just have to go back again!

🎵 This beautiful song by @thefeelersnz was everywhere in New Zealand 1998, and I was so excited when I got home to find they were playing O Week at Adelaide Uni - my friend @al.i.barrett were there to see them live. by @thegoodcopyco

Here’s hoping @freodockers can channel James-level energy tomorrow… powered by purple donuts and, well, we’re not quite sure what.

We’ve had lots of fun this week welcoming Freo supporters on the road trip of a lifetime to the MCG.

I’m back at my desk today after a wonderful time in Bali and then on the Sunshine Coast, celebrating the 40th birthdays of two very special people.

It was a midnight arrival into Kimba last night to a clear, crisp night and a balmy seven degrees!

Trying to remember passwords, how to cook for myself and generally how to function now that I’m back to reality, but always grateful to have interesting, challenging and meaningful work waiting for me here in my little office. Thank you 🙏 by @thegoodcopyco

My girls-trip-to-Tassie souvenir? A beautiful copy of a treasured tale with our own story inscribed inside the front cover… a small snapshot in time by each of the dear friends I travelled with, because we’ll want to remember that weekend and who we were forever.

Adding a little extra shot of dopamine to my daily shipping container routine! by @thegoodcopyco

I delivered these beautiful little coffee table books this morning, ready for their new home in the recently-refreshed Kimba Units on our local main street.

Part ‘here’s how to use the air-con and where to park’, part ‘here’s how to have an amazing time in our lovely little town’.

It’s not often I get to hand a finished product to a client - more often it’s a PDF winging its way through the interwebs to some far-flung part of the state or the country - but literally handing a piece of work over, tied with a little bow? Super satisfying!

Here’s a glimpse at just a few of the 30-odd pages of home town goodness 🙌❤️

Fifteen years since we stood under the big boab tree on our wedding day.

Our family has grown a bit since then and we dragged the kids around Broome a couple of weeks ago to re-visit some of those special places.

Swipe to see us under the boab tree 10 years ago with little Heath, and 15 years ago when it was just us two embarking on a great big adventure together. How lucky we have been.

Would love to live that day again, dancing with our nearest and dearest under that tree. by @thegoodcopyco

We love having Tenille from @zwarbeauty in the house here at Workshop26!

If the faces of Kimba look a little extra glowy today you’ll know why 🙌❤️ by @thegoodcopyco

We’re home in our own beds tonight after almost three wonderful weeks away.

Three weeks of catch ups and long chats with friends we used to see every day.

So many people asked why we’d choose to holiday in a place we used to live - why we’d go back.

This seems like a strange question to me, but then I don’t think travelling is just about seeing new places - like almost anything worthwhile, it’s about who you’re with, about keeping friendships and connections alive, and I can’t think of anyone I’d rather holiday with than some of the people we’ve been with in the last few weeks.

We still didn’t get to see everyone but that seems like a good excuse to go back again 🙌 by @thegoodcopyco

Have you picked up your copy of the new Eyre mag yet? Put together by the team at the Eyre Peninsula Advocate, the latest edition features one of our favourite people… our very own Mon whose smiling face you’ll often see behind the counter in our little old tractor shop.

It also includes other @eyrepeninsula legends and W26 favourites like @joshywillo, @epmulberrytree, @glenroy_cavoodles_sa, @suzie_kenny_ and loads more.

Grab yourself a copy - they’re scattered right across the EP! by @thegoodcopyco

Today’s wordsmithing task is a pretty fragrant one… preparing the web copy for these beauties that will soon be available online at karawathahome.com.au

Tough gig right?! My shipping container smells amazing 🍋❤️ by @thegoodcopyco

Those random Wednesday morning texts that make you weep with pride, sadness, and all the feels.

My friend’s little girl, who was a squishy little toddler just a minute ago, is all grown up and has flown the nest for bright dreams in the big smoke.

It was a moment and a lifetime ago that she was a little dot, and now she is big, and I know that all too soon my own little dots will be big too.

It’s a beautiful, bittersweet wrench being a mother, isn’t it? Pouring every fibre of yourself into making yourself obsolete, growing them into someone who all-too-soon can do it all by themselves ❤️
