POSTS STORIES REELS

Hi! 👋 Since there have been so many new faces around here, I thought it was time to properly introduce myself.

I’m Kimo — a dog dad, watercolor artist, storyteller, and someone who believes dogs have the power to bring people together. Everything I create, from pet portraits to The Good Dog Post, is inspired by that belief.

If you’re new here, I’d love to meet you. Say hello in the comments — and if you have a dog, tell me their name. 🐾💛

November happy mail is on its way! 🐾💌

This month’s Good Dog Post is all about Grace & Gratitude. Inside, you’ll find a personal letter with a 12-song Spotify playlist, an original watercolor art print/postcard, a festive Snackie-Poo recipe featuring dog-friendly holiday appetizers, and a mini guide on dog nutrition.

A few thoughtful surprises, creative fun, and reminders of the special bond we share with our dogs. Because sometimes the best things in life come in the mail. ❤️

🐾🎨 Doggy Doodles is back!

This time, we’re getting a little scribbly! ✍️

For this quick art exercise, I’m using a fine-tip pen and a continuous-line scribble technique to create a portrait of my favorite model, Kubo.

By changing the size and density of my little circles, I can create shadows, highlights, and texture without worrying about perfect lines.

Then I add a little watercolor to bring it all together.

Remember, the goal isn’t perfection. It’s about loosening up, experimenting, and letting your creativity flow. Sometimes the best art happens when you stop worrying about getting it right!

Grab a pen, find your favorite dog photo, and give it a try. ❤️🐶

🏆 No awards this time, but I still consider it a win.

Entering my first art contest wasn’t about winning a prize. It was about pushing past my fears, putting my art out into the world, and doing something that felt a little uncomfortable.

As artists, we put a piece of ourselves into our work and then invite people to look at it, interpret it, and judge it. That takes courage.

So I’m learning to celebrate the goals I achieve, not just the outcomes I hope for.

I didn’t win the contest. I achieved a goal I set for myself. And for me, that’s a HUGE win. 🎨❤️

What’s something you’ve been wanting to do but haven’t quite had the courage to try yet?

Welcome to Doggy Doodles!

These little art exercises are all about loosening up, getting the creativity flowing, and remembering that art doesn’t have to be perfect to be fun.

Today’s model? My favorite boy, Kubo! ❤️ We’re playing with continuous line drawing and watercolor, letting go of expectations, and seeing what happens.

No pressure. No perfection. Just a little creativity, a little color, and a whole lot of dog love.

Grab your supplies and your favorite dog photo, and doodle along with me! 🐶

October’s mailing of The Good Dog Post included this original watercolor piece I call “Once Upon A Dog.” it reminds me that every dog has an origin story, but it’s just the beginning. We add to that story and begin writing new chapters everyday 🩷

It’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve posted because I’ve been on a vacation in beautiful Portugal. We visited Lisbon and Porto, and it was such a magical experience. But I’m back in Salt Lake City, Utah now, and ready to get cracking again on some art. I got some big ideas and big goals, and sometimes it’s hard to just focus on one little thing at a time. But my love of art and love of Dogs keeps me going every day, and I’m so excited for the next couple of months. The print that I’m holding in this photo was in the very first mailing of The Good Dog Post, and I can’t believe I’m about to send out my fourth mailing for November really soon! Thank you for following along on this journey, and can’t wait to share more art with you 🖼️🩷🐾

Reminder that even though emails exist, we can still do this 💌

I specifically designed my mail club for dog owners who want to slow down a little, and celebrate the time they have with their dogs. Each monthly mailing includes a letter, 12 song playlist, original art print/postcard, easy dog treat recipe, a meaningful dog bonding activity, and more!

Sign it by the 15th for next month’s mailing 🐶🩷

Just a reminder: you’re already someone’s favorite person.

One small step for my art, one big step outside my comfort zone. 🎨

I’m entering my very first art contest! Not because I expect to win, but because getting my work out into the world—and in front of people—is something I’ve wanted to do for a while.

It’s been on my list of goals, and today I get to check it off. ✅

I’m learning that sometimes the goal isn’t the prize. It’s having the courage to put your work out there in the first place.

Here goes nothing. ❤️
