After everything we’ve seen this week… ladies, please take your safety seriously 🤍

I hate that we even have to think about protecting ourselves. I wish the answer could simply be for people not to do evil things but unfortunately, we live in a world where evil exists.

Stay aware. Be prepared. Learn how to protect yourself, and whatever method you choose, make sure you’re properly trained and confident with it.

I pray I never have to use mine, but I’d rather be prepared and never need it than need it and not be prepared.

This question comes up a lot, but the reality is that we don’t get to decide when we may need to defend ourselves or someone else.

So, in many ways, we already know the answer. The hard part is everything between knowing and actually putting in the work to become capable, confident, and responsible when carrying.

I would never recommend carrying without training because I believe doing so can increase the risk to yourself and those around you. For me, that meant spending more than six months intentionally training before I ever started carrying.

My goal is to be capable of carrying every day, but with one important caveat: I will only choose to carry after evaluating whether I’m prepared to take on the responsibility and decision-making that could come with it if the need arises.

And I think this is where many 2A advocates get it wrong.

Choosing to carry shouldn’t be an automatic, mandatory “yes.” It should be a decision you evaluate honestly every day based on your preparedness, capability, and willingness to accept the responsibility that comes with it.

If the goal is ultimately to be capable of carrying, then why negotiate with your own safety instead of putting in the work to become genuinely capable of handling that responsibility?

You will always be faster than 911 …

When you choose the EDC lifestyle, you have to be adaptable. It’s not always a one size fits all situation. The more options you have, the better. This requires different tools and different ways to carry the tools. Assess your lifestyle and armor up accordingly.
