“Eternal Mother”

I created this new poster in honor of Día de los Muertos, while reflecting on those who came before us. The face in this piece is based on two transparent photos of my mom, one from her youth and one from a little later in life. 🔥They are some of the only images I have of her, as her candle burned to quick and bright, and studying her face so closely definitely turned into some shadow work for me.🔥

I also wanted to weave in a connection to my Filipino heritage. The geometric pattern within the border, representing bundles of rice, often surfaced in traditional textiles and tattoos. The ouroboros speaks to the cyclical nature of life, moving from myself to my mother and extending back to all of the ancestors who shaped who we are today.

Thank you for taking the time to view my work. I hope this piece resonates with you and that this season brings you all meaningful connections with loved ones in the past and present. 🌹♥️🌹

A little something different from my usual posters. This one was inspired by some classic dead lyrics, renaissance sun faces, and my artist’s intuition which shows up as a third eye here. I really like how this one came out. Please feel free to share and add a little brightness to someone’s day 🌞🩵✨ by @thegratefulgrrrl

Enjoyed creating this stealie pumpkin with acorn “teeth” for @thevenicewest ’s Grateful Brunch October lineup. Second and third pics are shots of the 1st color/text variation before landing on a brighter/bolder version per the client’s request. by @thegratefulgrrrl

This one was just for fun. Accidentally realized it’s kinda giving off Cornell ‘77 vibes. What do you all think?!? by @thegratefulgrrrl

I couldn’t have been more thrilled when @dansteinmusic asked me to create a poster for the Days Between Celebration at the Ventura County Fair featuring The Half-Steps!

First came all the brainstorming of fun fair imagery (🎪✔️, 🎡✔️, 🎈✔️), then I added some classic Dead references, including dancing skeletons in a laser light tent and some bears getting into some shenanigans—the ice cream kid reference is my favorite! Creating this poster was so much fun, especially because it brought back memories of all the fairs and carnivals I got to enjoy as a kid.

Here is the first rough draft of the poster, along with a few close-up details if you swipe right! It was such an honor to create this piece for such an awesome group of musicians, especially for a celebration of Jerry Garcia’s life. I hope it captures a little bit of the joy, playfulness, and magic that is tied so closely to the music 🎶

Feeling grateful to be doing something I love. ⚡🌹
