Our Green Vanguard project is growing steadily, thanks to our community led approach and ongoing collaboration with schools, stakeholders and smallholder farmers.

We expanded access to school meals, provided experiential learning for students, led training sessions for farmers and engaged in learning opportunities for our team.

Grateful for the support of the @bankimooncentre via the Accelerator Fund which empowered us to grow! by @thegreenvanguard

We have exciting news from our partner school farm garden at Stages School!

Okro and kontomire are ready to be harvested! This bounty will provide fresh, nutritious food for our students while promoting hands-on learning about sustainable agriculture, healthy eating, and the importance of locally grown produce. by @thegreenvanguard

On World Environment Day, we underscore this: the future grows from what we plant today.

Theme: Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future.

We can’t fix everything today. But we can plant the trees in front of us. Inspired by nature. Doing our part for the climate. Growing a future we actually want to live in.

Working together for a greener and healthier future! by @thegreenvanguard

Daniel Nartey ( @narteydaniel7) is our 2025 Volunteer of the Year.

Daniel is the lead for our Creative Learning & Arts Programme.

In 2025, he guided hundreds of learners to connect literacy with creativity. Under his facilitation, students designed posters, made paper arts, wrote stories, and presented their ideas.

During our outreaches, he has a way of bringing abstract concepts into tangible work the children can see and explain. His approach blends art, critical thinking, and hands-on problem solving, making learning active rather than passive.

A great team player, Daniel also mentors other volunteers, documents lessons for replication, and ensures every activity ties back to real classroom needs in our partner schools. His consistency, patience, and ability to engage both shy and bold learners have strengthened the quality of our programs across Shai Osudoku.

Thank you, Daniel, for your commitment to building classrooms where every child has a voice and the tools to express it. by @thegreenvanguard

Tree planting and environmental protection education demonstration event at our partner school Stages Academy.

Incredibly excited to have partnered with @the_forestry_commission Ayikuma, Shai Osudoku District to undertake this tree planting exercise. It was also an amazing opportunity for the children and all of us to learn the importance of tree planting, how to sustain plant life in our school and community and the Green Ghana Agenda.

Thank you @the_forestry_commission for your support. It was also wonderful to have students from @tetr.college join us for this exercise.

@bankimoon_org provided support for this through the Accelerator Fund. by @thegreenvanguard

Towards a future where we all act as global citizens. by @thegreenvanguard

Color became language.

On the grounds of our Libraries Without Walls – Mobile Literacy & Creativity Hub (MoLIC Hub), children leaned into canvases with curiosity, while students from @tetr.college @lifeaftertetr28 worked alongside our volunteers to guide, encourage, and quietly affirm their ideas. When a child sketches a turtle or colors a reef, they begin to ask questions. Where do these animals live? Why are some disappearing?
What harms the ocean? Art opens the door to environmental literacy.
Drawing marine life builds awareness of ecosystems, biodiversity, and the fragile balance that sustains life. It introduces early conversations about plastic pollution, rising sea levels, and climate change in ways that are accessible rather than overwhelming.

There is something powerful about giving a child space to create.

Art strengthens fine motor coordination and concentration. It sharpens problem-solving and critical thinking. It nurtures emotional expression and self-regulation. It builds confidence in ways worksheets never can. In a single session of painting and crafting, children practice patience, make decisions, take creative risks, and learn that their perspective carries value.

And perhaps most importantly, art expands imagination — the very foundation of literacy, innovation, and lifelong learning.

Grateful to team Tetr for joining us for this wonderful activity!

Grateful to @discovergidi for helping us expand learning through the donation of these supplies! by @thegreenvanguard

More tree planting !

We are grateful to the students from @tetr.college who stood shoulder-to-shoulder with our students to plant trees and learn about environmental responsibility through our Green Vanguard program.

Special thanks to the Forestry Commission of Ghana for supporting this cause and helping young people take real action for climate resilience and sustainability.

Towards a world where every child, youth and adult work together as global citizens. by @thegreenvanguard

We came with bare hands. We left with roots in the ground.

Through @thegreenvanguard, we ( children , students and young people) are learning that caring for the earth is caring for each other. One tree. One lesson. One future at a time. It was wonderful to see @tetr.college students team up with our children to plant these trees together to care for the land that feeds us.

We are grateful to @the_forestry_commission @bankimoon_org Ayikuma for supporting this cause and leading a demonstration event.

Tree by tree, we are teaching climate responsibility, and love for community. by @thegreenvanguard
