Got to make a bunch of art, masks, paper cuts and giant creatures for @woodstovefestival this year. Partner with one of my favourite art partners @hdawnsparks, plus help from @tsolumriverranch and @shamalama.art we converted @thecumberlandstudio into out art factory for the week. I did a photo shoot last month with my sweetie @joslynkilbornphoto using some of the masks, paper roses and creatures. These are from a costume job we did for MIT and 4:3 collectives film SHADOW QUEENS. They reached out after seeing Jareds @children_of_the_greylands series. We’re throwing a amateur film fest fundraiser. This is low bar fun shorts made on your phones or whatever. The idea is that everyone can participate. Grab some friends make a 8 minute max little film in one of these categories; sci fi/ noir, comedy, documentary, music, horror, avante garde/ experimental. Submissions due April 30. Trophies and prizes for each category. Plus we’ll be presenting sneak peak at our Tales from the Greylands film. Submission info in website. taken in The Cumberland Studio by @thegreylands

From a project called foot hills I did with @chrisleitchartwork years ago. This is how it was done in the old days kids. Spent weeks and weeks cutting up old magazines and photo books then photographing the collage one frame at a time to make this magic happen. The full project is a 35 minute animation and was for a @canada.council grant. @chrisleitchartwork made the soundtrack as well as contributing to some animation. The two of us lived together out in Fraser valley farmland for a couple months while working on the project. Using an old barn as a studio we existed in a kind of parallel play creative hermitage. Chris focused on the music and I focused on the animation. We did a big show in Vancouver to screen it at @chinacloudstudios but never actually released it online. I think we were both too focused on our next projects to bother promoting something we’d completed.
