Now with spring in full swing, bursting at the seams with blooming flowers and the bristling invitation to spend all of ones time outside, I'm reminiscent of those quiet winter days. The ones where you gather the wood, stoke the fire, feed the chickens, and then get down to wittling away on fanciful fingerings and distant melodies. This is a reminder to keep the balance. As we un-entrench ourselves out from under the cold and buzz around to our various spring rituals, let's keep some space for the quiet and contemplative occasions that lend perspective and inspire action. by @thegriffith

Just sent off the final masters for this new song and another gooder for the next instalment of @inbound.mov 's amazing documentary series, Journey to 1.1km. If you want to catch the whole song, keep an eye out as we're likely coming to a film fest near you! The project has been picked up for an international tour and we are so excited to get our sights and sounds out to so many.Journey to 1.1km follows a gang of crazy Canadians as they attempt to build and walk Canada's longest highline. A highline is like a tightrope, only much looser! They swing in the middle of huge expanses, between waterfalls and mountain tops. And so for the music, I did some research and explorations into traditional Adirondack and Cascadian mountain music styles: open tunings like DADGAD, clawhammer striking techniques, brash optimism and a restless sense of triumph. Getting ready for that big stage energy tomorrow at @vicskareggaefest ! We go on Saturday at 3:30p; in the harbour, across from The Empress.Always such a pleasure to join the Ska Fest fam by the waterside and enjoy so much music and fun. @blaseblasemusic is thrilled that it's our turn to share on the big stage and we've got a few surprises lined up that will be sure to offer the perfect compliment to a perfectly sunny day. With @deadprez, @officialmackab, @mungoshifi and @djtankgyal all stacking the line up, this long summer day is sure to turn into a sizzling night. Hope to see you there!Big thanks to @dane.r.587 @dklektic and the rest of the ska fest team for putting their whole hearts into this and so many other productions throughout the decades.
