SYNAPTIC ARCHITECTURE was the conceptual and poetic framing for a night inspired by metaphors of neurological structures and techno-sensory connections. The exhibition Synaptic Architecture at the @tate on June 26th, 2026, aimed to explore sensory design, collaboration and emergent behavior. This one night event mapped how exhibited and performed sensory inputs form connective patterns of output , attention, memory and affect with each live slot acting as signal and neural firing.

@noise.rca and @thegrin.io and @tate were pleased to present Synaptic Architecture at the Tate Modern's Tate Lates series to a lively crowd. The night staged curated installations, hybrid performances and short live-music performances woven with interluded DJ transitions, and screen based works showcased along the perimeter of the Tate's 2nd floor Blavatnik Room.

NOISE, or The Network of Installation Sound Experience, is an RCA wide platform exploring the dynamics of sound experience as it relates to the synaptic interaction and context of other senses and materials in public space.

Signals from Liverpool.

Next week, TheGRIN.io founder @thristian joins @mark.leckey for a conversation as part of Selector, a collaboration between @tateliverpool and Future Yard exploring the relationship between contemporary art and contemporary music.

For more than two decades, Leckey’s work has examined the intersections of sound, memory, technology and collective experience. From Fiorucci Made Me Hardcore to Music From The Age Of Spiritual Machines, his practice continues to influence how we think about culture, archives and the communities that form around them.

The conversation will explore music’s role in shaping artistic practice, collective memory and contemporary culture — themes that resonate across many of TheGRIN.io’s ongoing investigations into art, science and society.

The talk is now sold out, but the wider Selector programme continues throughout the week with performances and live events curated by Leckey.

"Look to the Sky"

It was really nice to be back at Tate Lates last Friday with our music curation and good vibrations residency, our first session since November.

Alongside Talks, Films and interactive Arts activities across the gallery, we celebrated Aboriginal Artist Emily Kam Kngwarray in the Turbine Hall with an hour of sounds from the central desert in Australia and beyond from @rona.ngamperle 🇦🇺 @GRINradio compiled an hour of Aboriginal Field Recordings and then finished off with an indigenous rooted DJ set from The GRIN founder @Thristian.

In the Terrace Bar @lilylon.don came through to throw down her undeniable dance styles and the one and only @swayoftheverses set the tone across on the Corner Bar.

The @mayorofldn @Sadiq and Deputy Mayor of Culture @justinesimons came down to check it out. It was really nice talking to them about what we've been doing for the past 5 years. It's kinda become a mini festival, one of the biggest dancefloors in London and we welcomed nearly 10k ppl last Friday to embrace in Arts & Culture.

Big love as always to the @Tate staff and crew for making us feel welcome and enable us to express ourselves @jessyeseth , @icks_ @rachkwhitehouse 🏆✨ The gallery will now be open late (without DJs and music) on Fridays and Saturdays.

We'll be back in September, but watch out for what's happening In August #TateLates

Renowned artist Emily Kam Kngwarray (c.1914–1996) created compelling, powerful works that reflect her extraordinary life as an Anmatyerr woman born in Alhalker in the Sandover region of the Northern Territory of Australia.
